ok, got a buddy, 23yo, eats like hardly shit per day, gonna start training with me next week. goals, gain gain gain. he's 141 pounds right now. so he's a hard gainer.

how many cals should i put him on per day? As much as possible? How many carbs? He's brand new, i'm the opposite, i need to cut, i know what to do for this. i just don't want him to over eat. but i want him to eat enough to feed muscle growth. he's gonna get a good training program going here from me. what you guys think? also, he's gonna train natural, he isn't gonna use steroids until he reaches potential a few years away. he's got enough test in his system right now to make good gains

Somewhere between 2500-3000 calories is probably sufficient, and should be increased after a month or so if it doesn't achieve his goals.

If he eats little, he may be skinny because of this, not because of a fast metabolism. It is a mistake to assume he needs 4000 calories + per day.

The Harris Benedict Equation (http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/harris-benedict-equation/) can be used to estimate his energy needs - go 10-20% beyond this to bulk

I'd say start at 3,000 and adjust accordingly as time will be the only true way to tell

Need to know his stats, bf %, etc...

Generally, since he's a hard-gainer, I'd say 3500+ calories a day.

i wouldnt go over 2500 for the first couple of weeks or he will just be sick because his stomach has to grow if he is used to not eating it will make him sick or could hurt him anyone read about where the jews after being freed from the concentration camps could only eat sugar cubes or there stomach would burst

hes a complete ecto so he needs to stay away from ALL cardio

get him on a 5x5 program, have him take 10gs(5pre,5post) creatine, On his Lifting days

Have him pick up fish oil and a huge bag of protein, make sure he is throwing OATS, banana, and peanut butter and OLIVE OIL in every shake (3xed) if he ever plans to put on size lol

tough to say how many cals he should eat, everyone's metabolism is different.

See what he is eating now, and up that by at least 500.

Good advice, if you up the calories or alter the diet to drastically, he will get fat.

You want some fat to build muscle, but too much fat............

Clean bulking IMHO.
