Would you mind sharing your current stats with us? I'm reviewing your journal and starting to have a lot of questions... :)
 
stats as in ?
I can give measurements if you like. I haven't done that recently though. I would venture to say they haven't changed much.
weight: 107
height: 60 in.
goal: rid body of excess fat and get some muscle.
As far as the weight lifting, I go as heavy as i can do 12 reps with. I could probably up my 10 lb dumbells but not sure how much. That is the heaviest dumbell i have at the moment. I have a bar (which i hate) that has plates. I can't remember the max weight off hand.

That helps, and I think you know exactly what I'm looking for, since you touched on it... :)

It's time to move some more weight. If it means purchasing more dumbbells or learning to fall in love with the bar, than please do so. I'm going to politely say that I THINK you're at a point where continuing to do what you are doing is going to be a waste of your time. A key part of success in adding muscle and/or losing fat is progressive resistance. You've stopped doing that, and further results are going to be unlikely.

:D Let me know if there is anything I've overlooked!
 
nelmsjer, If I move up in weight is it ok to do less reps or sets if i'm unable?
Also, I have difficulty with my bar when i'm doing squats with it. I have trouble getting it up over my head and onto my shoulders. I am pretty weak in the upper body and not sure how I could up that weight.

Yes, it is certainly acceptable to do less reps, as long as you keep trying to get more reps. If you can only do 6 or 7 when you start, then you just try to get up to 8-10 or 10-12, etc. I think right now, though, that you've "outgrown" your play toys and need bigger ones. :)

Do you JUST have DBs and a bar with plates? Any bench or anything?
 
I have a bench that folds up and has 3 positions. But it does not have a place to put a bar for chest presses or the leg ext. thing. It's just strictly a bench.

but..but.. i like my bench! I just got it like a month ago.
Plus i workout in my bdr. and i can fold it and put it out of the way.
Now in the garage i have a cheapy cable type gym. But some of the exercises i cannot do on it because of my size(too small). I can however do some pulldowns, leg ext, chest presses, on it.
One of these days when we add on to our house we are going to invest in a nicer home gym that dh and i will both use. He'd like to bulk up a bit, but stay really lean( like he is). He is a bball player and likes being that way, but would like to get some more definition.
I am going to get some heavier dumbells for the time being...like maybe 15's i guess.

Oh! My apologies...all I meant was that you needed bigger dumbbells. If your bench had bar supports, I was going to suggest a way to help you get under the bar for a squat, so that is why I asked. :) I wasn't knocking your bench. ;)
 
Yep, Nelm's is right. If you are up to 12 reps with your current DBs, time for BIGGER ones!!! YAY!!!! :)

Yeah the squatting is a problem. And i don't want to have to depend on someone to help me. Getting the bar up is quite a feat, and I feel like i would like to move up in weight on the squatting, back exercises, bicep exercises.But, I don't think i'm ready for more weight with the shoulders yet.

I have not been following the plan. I have threw myself behind and am regretting it. Gosh sometimes i have the hardest time staying on track. It's a mental thing, and i have to beat it somehow. I do great for a while and then boom...just pitiful!!
I am planning on starting fresh tomorrow morn. :verygood:

I'm not eating bad... just WAY too much, and not being able to work out cause of physical injury :rolleyes: Neverthaless.... It still sucks...but it feels good to feel like your not alone! So, just know that your not chica!!! ;) New month/ new week... TOMORROW it is :)

I am so totally exhausted this morning. I slept in toooo late and did not do the cardio i planned.
I'm thinking its the workout last night that made me so tired. I dunno what else it could be.
If I feel this way I feel like I should skip any more exercise. Of course tonight I will go ahead and do back/chest or arms/shoulders. I just don't have the energy to do the cardio.
Is this bad? I have a lot of belly fat and some fat in other areas to rid. Unsure what to do.

m1: pro shake w/ 1 scoop whey, 2 ice cubes, 6 oz water, 1/4c. s/f f/f straw. yogurt(lightnfit), 2 frozen strawb.
 
You might find that doing the cardio actually gives you more energy.
I have this problem too since I work out late at night. Sometimes I am so exausted when I first get out of bed, but I feel energized after doing cardio.
If you can't force yourself to get moving in the morning, maybe you could do it post workout at night.

I feel really not like myself today. I just got back from the store and i felt like just weird, i have an obscenely bad headache and just feel like the air has been knocked outta me. I am really really stressed out right now too, so that doesn't help. WIsh this flippin' headache would LEAVE!! I have taken my ibuprofens and to no avail.

The funny thing is I actually tried to find a smaller print than the reg. for that part. :laugh2:

Got on the treadmill on empty stomach this morning. Changed my usual way of working out and tried a much higher incline :evil: . I think i have a tendency to go too easy :rolleyes: so i'm going to try to quit that (i don't like the effects it has on my thighs ;) )LOL
so i did a 10% incline for a bit, then switched to 8%. The speed was about 3-3.5. If i went higher than that i felt like i had to hold on the whole time, and obviously i don't want to do that. My legs are really short ;)

Hey nice job to switching up the tread workout .. do that often ... :) EVen if you have to hang on for 30-60 seconds, then go back to a 'recovery' period where you don't, then go hard, easy , hard, eay etc...

Truth be told, Dh was off work for the day and he and i went out to eat, just the TWO of us. Nice for a change.
So we had mexican. I ate a few chips and salsa, and the beef and chicken nachos. It has beans, the meat, cheese and sour cream and lett and tom. I left the chips off, since i'd already ate some pre-meal.
I hated to put down that i'd ate out...again.... i knew bunny would be disappointed in me. :(
Worked out in the yard today, digging up a groundcover that i hated. WHEW!!
m3: about 3/4 c. brocolli, and 3 protein pancakes with a dab of polaner s/f all fruit on them. PRobably 1 tbs in all, if that! 2 large glasses of water.
1 tsp anpb before bed, water. :qt:

I love the PUPPY DOG!!! Boxers are my dogs!!! I like that his/her ears are floppy too!
As far as your eating out... don't worry about what other people think of you... or that others will be disappointed in you. It's all a process of how you live your life. We're all here to support you... Try and help keep each other in line, and none of us look down on anyone else for dropping out of line. :heart:

4/12 squats with bar about 42-43 lbs
3/12 plie squats w/2 dbs. about 13-14lbs ea. (these are adjustable and the bar and collars weigh themselves so that's why its an odd number.)
3/12 ea. leg walking lunges same dbs
3/15 single leg calf raises (on edge of treadmill) with 1 db.
stiff leg deads did one set of 12 w/ 32-33 on bar, and i think i got the other set out, but missed the last one. Emergency and had to quit immed. :worried: (daughter having pain in lower stomach) :worried: I hope it's not aunt flo already...Lord please NO!!! she's just a baby.
I had to take her the heating pad and stay with her.

Mine was a boy. I had to give him to my friends because I was just to busy and it wasn't fair to him!!! He is fixed and his name is Isaiah. So now I'm his Auntie :)
I think I have a picture of him in my gallery somewhere. He's a year and a half old. He was the third one I have had. Yes they get excited when people come over but that's their nature. A lot of people don't like it... that's why you have to be a Boxer lover to enjoy their personality!

Yeah a little low i guess. I felt better after the egg tortilla rollup, but the headache was not, so i hit the sack.
Much better this a.m. Much to do today, and for that matter the rest of this month. I think stress about stuff i gotta do in the next couple weeks is maybe the headache cause.
Actually i'm not really even sure what mydaily cals should be for cutting.

Weight this a.m= 105.5

m1: pro shake w/ 2 straw., 1/2 c. oats(measured dry),1 splenda, cinn.and 2 green tea caps.

well scorpiogirl the scales said 105.5 today. Believe me i'm not teensy weensy. Just short and small framed, with toooo much fat and noooot enuff muscle.

I took my daughter to the dr yesterday, dr. seems to think maybe it was constipation :worried: , she hasnt' went yet either. I can't believe that could cause such intense pain, but they say it can.
I am thankful it's not the menstrual cycle beginning. NOT ready for that!!
She is 11 , until june. Funny thing is she is already as tall as me and wears the same size of shoe. ;) Apparently not inheriting the shortness. :)

*fyi; went to mcd's for the kids dinner and dd's friend that is sleeping over and didn't get myself nothing!! I did have a weak moment and ate about 6 fries. I am proud ~~ :verygood: ;) It sure smelled good on the way home, i couldve pulled over and downed it ALL, but i just kept thinking about bunny and the girls here and how that food is so horribly fattening and unhealthy and visualizing my goal!!! I'm gettin' there slow but sure :heart:
