Gave myself a headache

I was doing dips and was on the last rep pushing it out with every last bit of myself and all of a sudden I got a sharp throbbing pain behind my eye and in the back of my head. Couldn't do anything with intensity after that. WTF did I do? This ever happen to anyone else?

Sounds like a pull in upper back and causes referral pain via nerves, I get them on occassion and it shoots up my neck, a couple times was so bad I couldnt turn my head for a few days. Do you feel anything in your back, betweek shoulderblades at all? How bout the traps?

I got that a lot when I was fighting. Quick jerks of my head, straining hard, or getting hit from the side. I'd feel the same thing and it would tunnel my vision for a couple seconds with what felt like enough minor damage to keep me from moving my head much like Zyg described.

Sounds like some pinched nerve action to me, from overstraining...
I usually do it at least once a year... its no fun not being able to turn your neck..
Make sure you don't turn your head when doing any extremely strenuous lifting... Thats what usually does it for me....

Absolutely no pain in my back or traps area. Pain is all in my head so to speak hehe. What is worse is that it has been 3 days and I went to workout today and sure enough once I pushed out a rep it came back. I think it might be from my eye. Perhaps straining myself increased pressure on my eye and maybe I popped a blood vessel or something? Pain is localized to behind my left eye and forehead area and shoots back to the back of my head.

I've done that as well....
I couldn't do any activities that got blood flowing for close to a week.... However I still think its a pinched nerve... I went to the chiropractor after doing this, and after only one adjustment and a couple days rest I was good to go again...
