Here's some preliminary info on the patches; it seems to be exclusively indicated for men, except for one AIDS organization in Portugal that says it can be given to post-menopausal women... What I'm not clear on at this point is whether the patch delivers 5 mg/day or 5mg continuously throughout the day. I found one abstract on medline that said the patch actually had 328 mg/test, but suffers from poor absorbtion... I wonder if it's too strong. Perhaps cut the patches in half? I will look at the actual package over lunch (forgot to bring it in this morning).

Yes, you can cut them in half, or get something like androderm that comes in 2.5mg patches. They are applied one per day, and slowly releases the test over a 24 hour period. For men, they recommend you apply one at bedtime and this should very closely mimic your natural test levels. From that, I would assume that applying at bedtime results in a testosterone peak in the early morning that gradually tapers off over the day. So if your friend wants his wife to hot for a morning glory, this would prolly be the best way to go. If he wants her hot for the afternoon/evening, then maybe apply mid-morning. No matter what, at that dose she will likely be pretty turned on a lot of the time!

When it says 5mg nominal continuous delivery of testosterone, what exactly does that mean? How much is the patch actually releasing?

You think if we cut each patch in half, apply a half and seal the cut end with a band-aid, etc... and run them for 10 days that it would work ok? Or, would it be better to run them full strength for 5 days? I understand orals and injectables, but these patches have me somewhat confused...

Nominal continuous delivery means that it will deliver APPROXIMATELY 5mg into the blood stream every 24 hours. It will vary a lot depending on where you put the patch, gender and lots of other stuff. BE VERY CAREFUL. The increase in libido is almost entirely due to the Test converting to DHT, so the higher the libido response, the greater the chance of permanent and undesirable side effects. If it's just sex your friend wants, he'd prolly be better off just giving her some DHT!!!! Even half a patch is pretty high for a woman, and if she's gonna try this, I would keep the trial as short as possible.

As a side note, I'm told that test converts to DHT at a greater rate in and around the woman's genitals. I'd go for an inner thigh application, though the buttocks is also pretty close!

MS, again, thanks for your input. Perhaps a 1/3 patch daily for 2 weeks... do you think that would be too long? These are relatively fast-acting, so one could discontinue if side effects surfaced and have it clear a lot faster than something with an ester attached...

Or maybe, I should just throw the patches away... it's not meant to be a cycle after all, more of a libido experiment. If it can't be done safely, it's not worth doing... She's more of an anavar woman for cycle (and even then, she doesn't go above 10 mg/day); she hasn't tried anything remotely androgenic before...

I wonder what the nominal variance is... They say approximately 5 mg/day, but I wonder what the high end of absorbtion could be...

Hey themachine, she should be fine doing it that way. My wife tried out test. cypionate at 100mgs. a week for two weeks and then dropped to 30mgs per week for a couple. Wow was that a lot of fun!! She was so horny she said everywhere she looked all she could do was think about sex. The only noticible sides were that her clit grew a little. No complaints here!

I dunno what the high end absorbed dose would be, but the total Test PER PATCH is only ~11mg (for a 5mg nominal patch). The 328mg or whatever if for the whole box of 30 patches, not per patch. So figure ~ 50% with the Testoderm system. A short course won't kill her, but your friend is taking a rather bizarre risk for a woman that doesn't even have a problem with sex drive. But IF the goal is to "feel what a man feels", then use a whole patch. This will no doubt be overkill since her body will be naive to such high levels of androgens, just like when a guys on a decent cycle. My comment about it taking longer than a week was in reference to how long it takes to reach steady state, therapeutic replacement blood levels in men. I imagine her libido will increase before this time, but if she really wants to experience life from a male perspective, it almost certainly takes longer than a week for changes in mood, personality and outlook on life to stabilize. Ditto for any anabolic benefits.

Do you truly see 5 days at 5 mg/day (or 2.5 for 10) as risky? I've read a lot of posts about women on test here... I would have thought this to be somewhat more mild than the norm due to its short duration and steady application without a spike... I'm sure she doesn't want to shut down or experience negative sides for something like this though...
