My hubby or back LMAO, it is better but it is one of those feelings like a headache that just hasn't gotten bad yet but you can feel it coming. if that makes any sense. I am trying not to bend down to much or pick up the girls. My goal is now next monday to be back on track. We are supposed to go to the play gym today, arrrrr.
 
So hubby's welding truck broke down last night. We are looking at big bucks to fix it, and even if we want to sell it we still have to fix it and are going to lose a lot of money, however in the end it would be best so he doesn't ever have this happen again.

A little stressed out now with Christmas coming. Not getting the furniture or anything else for awhile. The shitty things about owning your own business.

I am trying not to let on to him, but I am worried. Thank god the place he is contracting for is letting him use their equipment so he doesn't miss any days off.

Back is still not great, cleaning ladies didn't show up yesterday and I had to clean the house, but I am going to the doctor tomorrow not that he will or can do anything.

With all this being said still in a great mood, no matter what happens I am just thankful for my family.
 
Sorry to hear about Ds truck. I've worked for small company's like that before, sometimes things run on a shoestring. He's just started so, it's all up from here.

Well lets see, I will give the short version LOL.

Hubby started his own business and kids have lots going on, not to mention I am getting my Degree in Commerce. I had a chest infection three weeks before the competition so I had to cancel competing. Since my back is all screwed up for the moment I have not exercised and was supposed to compete in April, however due to life have to for the moment put it on hold, but it is all good. HEE HEE

Im with you CK, I didnt want to call then whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaambulance to take me to er the other day to get some fluis in my b/c I didnt wanna move or go down the flights of stairs :worried: Then fork over more $ out of pocket b/c my insurance ded. went up this year. I felt like lik two days were wasted being sick, but running on slo motion.. ugh. I feel so ill right now too grr... I hope you feel better

I am going back to the doctor today finally!

it is bloody cold here and we are not going to the family christmas celebration it has been cancelled due to the weather, no one can drive anywhere. But off to see Santa tomorrow and the lighting of the lights in our town. Supposed to go skating, not going to happpen LOL I will watch.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!!!!

She said there was nothing she could do until the MRI results (and as such I have the other doctor taking care of that) sooooo she prescribed me Tylenol 3's and told me to take advil everyday, DUH. But really I didn't expect anything else to be done in regards to it I guess, got some blood work done, and that is about it. oh yeah, and she gave me a book to read about backs to read :rolleyes: and she told me not to exercise until it stops hurting. Oh yeah and she thought I was in my mid 40's, so that really made my day. When I told her I was 31 boy did she feel stupid.

I will have to go see my regular doctor, one day.

I'm not keen only Ty 3s. They never work for me. Does the Advil really work?

Maybe she said that because of your maturity & wisdom. Us old folks got that, & you're ahead of the curve there.

Thanks Hidn and Bunny, I feel 40 today, back is not any better and I haven't broken down to get the tylenol 3's. I guess I am just being stubborn, but I would rather it be fixed then take pain killers, plus regular tylenol makes me loopy I can just imagine the 3's. With that being said, I am going to try and workout again on monday.

Something is better than nothing, and no matter if I don't do anything or I do it still hurts sooooooo. Going to take it slow and ease into working out again. I am going to take yet again beginning before shots because I have lost A LOT of muscle already and start over.

On a brighter note, took the kids to see santa today, made a gingerbread house, and cookies and maple taffy YUMMMMMMY!!! going to watch the grinch who stole christmas and enjoy a quiet evening with hubby when the kids go to bed IT IS FREEZING here and there is a lot of snow, more to come this week. :) I can't wait to go skiiing and snowmobiling in the next couple of weeks (i know the back won't like it but I don't care anymore) LOL

I know, for me, 3 Xtra strentgh Ty's are better than Ty3's The codeine doesn't do much for me, & there isn't that much Acetaminophen in the Ty3.
I'm actually jealous about the snow. We have none yet.
PLEASE be careful while working out. I worry, I do. :worried: At least with all the snow, you can just fall out a door & ice your back. :lmao:

LMAO, no worries, I am going to take it really slow and easy on Monday.

I really don't want to make it worse but I also think not doing anything is not making it better (if you know what I mean). I will not be doing any cardio until I can figure out what to do.

I am just baffled at this point as to why no physical therapy has been recommended but then I guess if they don't know for sure what is happening what is the point. annnnd I am rambling....

So I walked for 22 minutes after my workout. When I hit 4.0 at 7 minutes I had to bring it down for awhile but got back up to 4 and at 20 minutes realized that was good for today

so 160 cals burned, I am going for 180 tomorrow LOL (baby steps)

one minute of abs inbetween sets - these will be done slowly and precise as I can get as to not hurt my back (these started to hurt my back) LOL

Isn't it funny how we start to depend on the regular activity, for more than just the activity? Mood enhancer, stress relief, etc.

so no workout today, got a phone call that my cousin was flying in from whitehorse to receive emergency surgery and I had to pick her up from the airport, it was whole day thing, it took an hour and a half just to get to the airport. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

I feel sooooo bad for her the doctor in whitehorse said that it was the worse break they had ever seen (she broke her elbow) so they shipped her on a plane full of drugs to vancouver, where there were no beds, then to edmonton and now they are not operating till FRIDAY! On top of that she hadn't eaten all day in preparation for the operation.

It is -28 with the wind chill -40!

Thanks, in light of what my cousin is going through, I didn't mind missing a day, considering I have missed so many already LOL. so today's workout is yesterdays :)

WOW! I thought my daughter's was bad last year, when she broke her ankle. She had to ride 3 hrs in an ambulance, to 2 different hopitals & wait about 24 hrs for her operation. That doesn't seem so bad, now.
Why the wait 'til Friday?

not sure yet, I had the kids with me so I couldn't stay in the hospital it was already 7:oo and they hadn't eaten soo, going back today to visit her, after my workout :)
 
so the workout rocked until my sewer backed up and after that was cleaned up which now the house friggin stinks cause it was right by the furnance, I started a fire in my stove, dropped the cookies we were making inside. One of those days I should of stayed in bed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, morphin by injection, she is better now that she has eaten and she has a better idea of what is going on. They had to postpone the surgery due to a blood clotting factor. Apparantely her doctor forgot to mention that when he sent her documents so they have to prepare for that, hence friday will be the operation.


Gymgurl....yup! to top it off both girls are sick again. Flu! arrrr but hubby is coming home with some pedialite and well I am going shopping LOL, shopping not for christmas, not for food but for me :chomp: well maybe a little for christmas, they have a cool dollar store here and it is perfect for stocking stuffers and cheap decorations.

Well since i am going on my own now and I have several programs to choose from I sort of did one up for myself for the month.

My goal is to increase muscle a wee bit more and shed fat and gain strength so I am joining Weight watchers, LMAO just joking tee hee.

I have heard so, in order to build muscle or maintain, it is optimal to do cardio actually at a later or early time than weights because it taxes your energy or something to build muscle. Oh let me find the article...

Personally I believe cardio to be the best and most effective when it is done first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Your body has not had any type of carbohydrate fuel for many hours, since you were sleeping, so you will burn bodyfat more efficiently as fuel.

I would not advise doing cardio before a workout, unless it is a brief 5-10 minute low intensity cardio to warm up. It is important to remember that your goal here is to build muscle and you want your body to be in an optimal state for your workouts. Weight training after cardio is not an optimal state, because the cardio will deplete your body of glycogen leaving you with less energy to lift weights. You need to save your energy for the important task at hand, which is to lift hard and heavy. Cardio after your workout is better, as you may be able to burn some extra bodyfat, especially after a leg workout. By doing the weights first, you deplete your body of glycogen.

Once depleted, your body can burn fat efficiently. However there is one drawback to doing cardio after a workout is that cortisol levels may become too high and put you in a catabolic state, which can break down muscle tissue and hinder growth. Personally I believe the best bet is to split up your training so that there is ample time between cardio and weight training to recover.


I don't know, or were you being sacastic??? Anyone I have ever talked to has told me to do my cardio after. I used to do it before and found this article to be true.
 
Yup... good article, that goes right along with everything I've read too ;) Especially if trying to gain or maintain muscle you don't wanna be doing cardio before your weights save up all your energy to blast through your weights :evil:

Yup, hopefully tonight, last night didn't get much sleep again so doing it all tonight, I actually can not wait!

The girls are feeling better today, it is just coming out the other end, and baby is not quite potty trained so you know what I am going through today. FUN FUN FUN. I did start taking my multi vit, aspirin, omega and vit c again. overkill, maybe, nahhhh??? LOL

Awesome job on the back workout then cause I know tonight is going to be killer, I LOVE IT!

off to make daddy some christmas gifts with the girls.

Personally I believe the best bet is to split up your training so that there is ample time between cardio and weight training to recover.


I don't know, or were you being sacastic??? Anyone I have ever talked to has told me to do my cardio after. I used to do it before and found this article to be true.

6:00 am cardio 30 minutes treadmill - still gotta do LOL don't know if I will get it in, Survivor night, priorities LOL plus easing into this, especially for my back I will probably just walk for 30 to stretch it out!

could not get an increase on some of them but it will come!!!!! My son had a day off school and worked out with me.

The boy has a hollow leg and is skinny minny and tall he is 11 and already has size 10 men's shoes. so to boost his confidence we are trying to see if this works.

He couldn't do any push ups at first and now he can do 5 properly!

I am so proud of him, he is trying so hard. There are some exercises I just won't let him do cause I can't show him properly or others he uses no weights until he can learn proper form but he never complains.

Last night was awesome until the end, but it was still worth it. LOL

I began with nachos and two double chocolate milk shake things (I was craving chocolate so he made me up something, it was YUMMY) then I had steak, lobster, ceasar salad.

They lost our bill for the drinks and nachoes so we didn't have to pay. But everything I ate didn't stay in me very long.

Milk doesn't agree with me ever, so milk and alcohol not a good combination!

In the end rockin good night, we are yet again onto hopefully onto another venture soon. We are discussing opening another business, all will be revealed when I get more info, YAHOO!!!

side note...he is so sweet he just phoned me to thank me for a wonderful evening

off to a much needed dentist appointment I made in June that kept on getting canceled. Off to get the last trace of smoking from me LOL

I will be starting cardio in the morning again, and weights in the evening. I am going to try getting up really early to see if I am so tired at night, I can sleep. As well, it is getting busy again and workouts are taking tooo long.

Lack of sleep due to pain or just can't sleep? My daughter had to go on them to help get her sleep patterns back in sync.

Glad to hear your hubby is in the game. It's soooo much help with your partner.

Well, ginger ale helped, room temp., Maybe ice chips if you cant keep anything down. Saltines, just for cals. Soup reminded me too much of what was coming up so that was hard to ingest.
