Fly's Countdown to Competition Log

Morning, ya'll!

Ice, a training partner would be AWESOME! I've never had one...all of the girls at my gym think that lifting heavy somehow turns you into a man.

Thanks, Nelms! ;) That means a lot coming from you! The store is a small business. The owner and I are friends, hence the reason I scored the 1/2 price on the isolate. He said that the stock comes and goes, depending on what happens with his supplier.

Thanks, Bunny!

Depletion Day 1

7:00 AM: 35 minutes cardio

25 minutes stepmill
10 minutes treadmill

8:00 AM: whole egg, egg whites, mushrooms, spinach
11:00 AM: chicken fajita meat, salad, avocado, homemade cilantro-lime vinegarette, strawberries :p
2:00 PM: grilled shrimp, roasted asparagus, blueberries

Generally, I am eating:

1.25 * bodyweight in protein
.5 * bodyweight in carbs(including fiber)
.2 * bodyweight in fat

I eat a small amount of carbs from fruit on my training days and no fruit on my cardio only days. Then, I do a half day carb up or a whole day carb up. My total calories on those days are ~2400. I'll have to get the macros for that...I can't remember them since I don't get them too often. :qt:

Checking in, this is great info. This is almost exactly where I'm at on a low carb day, for the protein and carbs, anyway. Fat is a little higher, I think. Running to fitday to check now :)

I'm adding in a few strawberries or a small apple on my low carb days. Reading IP's log also inspired me to by some cantelope/melon... Yum. A good treat, too!

Bear in mind, this is for my depletion. Check out what I wrote for IP in regards to carb cycling. That will pertain to you a bit more...although you are depleting before you carb up. Hmmm...let me go look in your journal. :verygood:

I laugh every winter here in NY because girls cover themselves up in big hooded sweatshirts and gain 20+ pounds. So come spring time, they are all crash dieting and hitting the gym (cardio whores). PUSH THEM OUT OF THE WAY!!

Cable Flys @ 40 lbs each side, impressive! You are so strong! I love cable flys and bonus- I think I look especially buff doing them, hahaha.... How many sets/reps total?

9:00 AM: 45 minutes cardio

15 minutes stempmill
20 minutes treadmill
10 minutes elliptical

10:00 AM: grilled shrimp, grilled asparagus
1:00 PM: baked tuna, green beans
4:00 PM: chicken fajita meat, celery, avocado
8:00 PM: 1% cottage cheese, walnuts

I need to find a way to fit in 2 more meals OR enough protein to cover those 2 meals. I will do what I can...

Thanks, GG!

Wonderwoman, it is so funny because the girls at my gym bring out the big guns and come to the gym completely underdressed! Big, small, short, tall. It amazes me how clueless they are as well.

I especially like the skinny-fat girls with half their asses hanging out of their spandex booty shorts and the roll of flab hanging over the waist band! lol

Heyyy I used to be one of those girls!!! LOL well without the crash dieting and stuff... but I was clueless. I think if anyone is actually getting themselves to the gym, no matter what the circumstances, at least they are trying. I know so many lazy people who just lie around and eat crap. I think more than half of those who crash diet and maybe go to the gym once in a while dont make it b.c they dont know anything about working out. I sure as hell had no clue.... I had NO IDEA what to do, eat, what exercised to do. I asked questions, slowly learned, and it worked out.

So things are "moving" better now?

I was thinking that on your carb up day you have a lot of dairy, when usually it's missing from your diet. There is nothing as "binding" as dairy and bananas and that can throw your body off kilter (especially since the majority of people have some kind of lactose intolerance). It can take a few days to readjust.

Just a thought anyway. Killer workouts, looking good. Hope the new responsibilities are working out well :)

Wednesday, April 26, 2006

Hey Mermie! Things are not moving right now. :worried: I am, once again, highly stressed with work. They are KILLING ME. I've been pulling 14 hour days since last week. I can't wait to change positions...

Thanks, Ice! I DID get to sleep last night! :elephant: I haven't had a full night's sleep in a week. Although, my brother in law called me at 4 AM to do cardio. 'Tard...

Aries, the difference between you and them is that you wanted to know better! These giggle-y azzed girls are in there to gain attention from guys. It is quite obvious...

Right back atcha, Bunny!

And they are ALWAYS on the elliptical, SG! :lmao: I want so badly to talk to some of them and tell them some things. Even some of the guys. I overheard some of them talking about how much beer they drank over the weekend.

Depletion Day 3

6:00 AM: whole egg, egg whites, fat free mozarella, mushies, apple
9:00 AM: 1% cottage cheese, blueberries, strawberries, celery
12:00 PM: fajita chicken meat, salad, homemade balsamic vinegarette
3:00 PM: grilled shrimp, green beans, avocado

I am sorry work is hounding you, when will you be able to change positions?

So HAPPY to hear that you were able to sleep last night. Though, I am sure 4 am came quite early for you - wow!

Have a fantastic day girl - I am sending good vibes your way!!

Position change should happen fairly soon. There are a ton of organizational changes going on right now, so I am not the highest priority due to my status at work.

Thanks for the good vibes! I've been kicking major heiney today.

Oh yes...I am happy to report...

LOL You guys are crazy. Let me just say...psyllium husks are now my best friend. ;) Doesn't even take much effort!

A few changes to today's macros. I got a wild hair up my butt and decided to go to spinning this evening. Therefore, the 6 PM meal was bulgarian yogurt, a banana, and whey.

LOL - nothing but love Mermi!!

Hey ladies! :)

Things are going well here. I had my carb up on Friday and a killer workout to boot! Kinda freaked out the guys in the gym. :lmao: Finished that workout with stepmill HIIT intervals. I was SOAKED by the time it was over!

I had a date last night. :worried: The guy is just...wow. Now, I don't expect someone to make as much money as me or be as obsessive as me about certain things, but there is just a certain level that I expect in regard to these areas. Now, I want to rant...and I will...because I can. ;)

Dude had the nerve to just flat out tell me that he is cheap and hates to spend money on dates. He then went on to say that he hates the initial dating phase and hopes that it passes quickly so that he can get to the stage where he doesn't have to pay for dates! :eek2: WTF? How do you tell someone that?

He purchased a house about 6 months ago. He had family coming into town and needed to clean his place. He did not have cleaning products to clean his house. He doesn't know how to friggin' mop! His MOTHER came to clean his house. Bear in mind, the guy is 30 years old...

Oh yea...and he planned the date for the most part. He chose the place to go, bought the tickets. WHY on earth did I end up driving and planning the time and deciding where we met so that I could pick him up? :mix:

If this is what dating is like, I'd rather stay single. Good lawd...

I find it easier to stay single. Don't have to worry about anyone else. Maybe that's selfish.....but I can be if I'm alone, right?!?!

I think guys now EXPECT us to pay - which I have no problem with....but don't mooch off me either! lol

Lose this one, FBC! He's helpless and needs a mommy. You are WAY too young to be dealing with that sh*t!!!! :lmao:

I think I need to join you on your depleting days! I keep growing and I'm supposed to be cutting

LMAO I could just see it now.... He takes the pant off and you say,"Are you kidding me?!?!, uhuhhhhh dude you need to put those back on!!!" Or else you'll have to hunt down the pepper, tweezers, and magnifying glass.... But after all that work you my as well get the battery operated friend out. At lesat you can't get pregnant, You know how to use it, there's no mess, and you can shut it off and throw it in a drawer and end up with the whole bed to yourself!!!

I usually say..."Hmmm...nevermind. I'm not feeling it." :verygood:

I've tried the battery operated man route. It is waaay too boring for me. I enjoy everything involved in the real thing and I can't get that going to battery operated route.

Since I've been on my meds, I can't do anything anyway so it's been a good deterant. I can't drink while on them either, which REALLY helps. I'm a live wire when I drink.

Oh yeah... By all mean we want the process to be streamlined and efficent. That's why maybe we should keep taking number 6 and number 9 to = 69

Muhaaa
YES DROUGHT but I choose it that way. Believe me... I could have it most days of the week if I wanted too.... But I'm not a swanky whore

Same here...without a doubt. I think that's one thing that a girl can definitely get if she really wants.

I feel 1000% better about myself since making this change. I'll definitely keep it up, too. There are enough skanks in the world without you and I joining the ranks.

NO joke! I lived that part of my life already.... I won't go as far as saying a born again virgin... but definitely selective. I'm so glad I never got any junk from my times. I did some stupid stuff, o.k. real stupid stuff. It's hard being 'good' but at least I can go to sleep easier!

pfttttt.....shows ya' just how much he knows about women......like we're all prim and proper. Start a conversation about THAT and IT'S ON!!! :lmao:

How many sets do you do?? What is your TUT?

Depletion workouts consist of more than 4 sets and TUT is pretty long...about 45-55 seconds. We are just trying to deplete all the glycogen to get ready for the carb up later in the week.

So you are still continuing with your comp prep, right?!? or no?

Nope, new job starts in 2 weeks and I imagine that wiill be quite a load. I am continuing with the competition prep diet, though. I want to get as lean as possible...just for the heck of it.

There's another show in November...I believe. I'll likely do that show instead. My life should be in order by then.
