Finding that balance in our sport

Im in school full time and have to maintain a 4.0 to keep my scholarships, working 40-50 hours a week, training 6 days/week and of course cooking and house work! I cant imagine having children on top of all that. It is hard for women as we have to fulfill so many different roles. I am a perfectionist so that doesnt help. I think having priorities and being able to adapt to change is essential. Sometimes things have to be left undone and I am ok with that.

Wow, busy beee!

So true! Adapting to change is huge. Not a lot of people know how to do that.

Being a single mom is not easy. I've been there and it is hard. Is there anyone close to you that can help out when needed? I know your closest friend would be more than happy to help out with some little things. I had to learn to reach out for help when I needed it.

So how come you don't think you will be competing? Be careful with stress. That is so not a good thing when prepping for a show.

I hope things calm down a bit for you so you can re-adjust some things around and find the balance that you need.

Thanks! :) Yes...I need to learn to ask for help more.

I'm behind and have really struggled this time around to drop weight. last time it went like clockwork. It's funny because last week I decided I wouldn't do this show, increased calories by 300 and lowered cardio from 90 mins to 30 per day and dropped 5 lbs!! LOL

omg laundry! I swear our hamper is a bottomless pit! Sometimes I feel the need for Merry Maid.

Me too. I plan on getting a maid as soon as I can afford it. Who has time to clean the baseboards/walls/windows? I'll get them to do only the extra stuff that I usually put off though, and still clean the everyday/weekly stuff myself.

Well I for one have great respect for ya'll (southern speak) competitors. I am currently a stay at home mom with three kids and I still have very little free time. Every time I turn around there is a mess or someone needs to be picked up or help with homework, or the husband (you know what I mean). I workout hard and diet well, but to do what ya'll do without having a meltdown is amazing.
