Hey anyone here ever had a D & C and what should I expect? I have to have that and a hystroscopy(sp) and possible laproscopy later...having problems with my periods lasting sometimes up to 10 days and just had spotting this month

Um, I have a non-life science degree. I can rebuild a computer for you, but I'm afraid I don't know what D&C is & the other stuff...?

i have had one. you will have some mild discomfort even with the pain meds, but afterwards just have to really take it easy for a few days to two weeks. just depends on the patient.

One of my close friends has had all of the following........ D & C because she had a miscarriage & hystro & Lapro because she had cancer cells. She said she had stomach cramps & bleeding after the D&C. Lasted for almost 3 weeks ...... She also said that that may not be true in all cases & it may only last a few days.
If you have any specific questions I can ask her for you.
Oh, she also said she is VERY prone to infections now. (No bath bubbles, scented soaps etc....)

I just recently miscarried, so I might be in for a D&C I find out tomorrow I think... If I have to go in for it. Ill let you know. I have done some research about it and I know its a very quick procedure. Like 5 minutes?? Good luck with everything.
