Facinated by broccoli...

Okay, thanks to ceebs, I'm feeling the need to eat a pound of broccoli every day...well, at least a couple servings. I really like asparagus, spinach, mushrooms, etcetera...all which (in my opinion) go together quite nicely in a breakfast type scramble--my omelettes usually end up as scrambles, so I've decided to streamline the process!

So the benifets of eating that much brocolli are probably great...I think I'm gonna pick some up...load up on the other veggies too. :chomp:

I'm looking for any suggestions for Trader Joe items as well...making a run later today...

I have to admit, I think about her "pound of broc a day" post quite often, myself.

I also have to admit that I FUBAR the omelette flip. :D

You obviously haven't read my posts on the diet forum lately. My record is now a pound and a half of broccoli, plus several pounds of hothouse tomatoes in one sitting. I was huuungry. :chomp:

I still say that it sounds like a lot more than it is, though. Broccoli cooks down to about 2/3 of its original size when steamed, and you can further condense it by smashing it into a mashed potatoes-like paste, and seasoning it with a little garlic salt. It's also only 69 cents a pound at Henry's locations throughout southern California, so it's economical, too!

Yeah...you've been haunting me in the grocery store. I put the broc in a bag, set it in the scale, and it was only like 1/4lb. I kept adding, and adding, and adding, until it reached 1 pound. Then I thought, "Holy ****, she EATS all that in one day?!?" Then this little devil popped up on one shoulder and said "Screw the broc there are TATERS in the next isle." Then this little cute, glowing, smiling avatar face popped up on the other shoulder, and without its mouth moving said, "Yeah, I'm bad, I can eat all that in one day. Can you run with the big dogs?" Well, I can't have that! So I bought a HYUGE bag of broc.

...and the taters.

Pound and a half? Pah! That's nothing! I've eaten that already today (raw) and it's only 5:30 pm - I have a another pound and a half waiting for me in my next two meals. :)

Funny thing is ... I'm still hungry

(But to come quite clean, that's only about half broccoli - the rest is cauliflower, gem squash, a few carrots, maybe some zucchini)

:D

lol!

I look at broccoli in a whole 'nother way now! It's been calling me!

Spatts, thanks for the great visual of you at the grocery store, getting challenged by ceebs avatar! :lmao:
