Here's an excerpt from a recently-drafted internal memo sent out from the A&F home office to all store managers:
"And lastly, with regards to employment practices, the people at HR have submitted and gained approval for an addendum to our hiring policy. As you all know, A&F is an equal opportunity employer (EOE), which does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, creed, etc... However, as of now, we no longer discriminate based on mental capacity, either. Or the lack thereof, to be more specific. In the hopes of improving our image, we are now actively recruiting and hiring the mentally retarded. It may seem strange, but this is important: please go out and find a retard today."
