Eating prone and before bed...

If there's a difference between your metabolism while sleeping vs. being awake but still sedendary, it's negligible at best.

Seriously man, if you want to gain some muscle, you're going to have to gain a little fat. Start eating.
you know what's funny? Seriously and not a slam. The bros who are heavier and have a heavier bf% are the ones that say skip the cardio, eat, eat, eat.

The lean bros say, keep the cardio, and eat, but do so very clean! Never eat after x oclock, etc.

So, eating laying down versus upright is no different and eating and then immidiately falling asleep has only positive effects? Is that what we are saying?

my final meal is roughly 200 cals from peanuts (about 20)
200 cals from dry curd cottage cheese
and 180 cals from a casein and skim shale. So roughly 550 cals, 18-10g of fat, minimal carbs, 1-2g of sugar, and 45-55g of protein.

Well, I don't fall into either category 'cuz I think cardio is good, but I have a higher bf% :(.

Anyway, things like "never eat after x oclock" are misrepresentations of what is actually happening. It's not the fact that they aren't eating after some magical cut-off time, it's the fact that by doing so, they're eating less total calories for the day. People always make up stupid rules to justify things, but it really just comes down to the all-mighty calorie.

Want another example? Eating 6 smaller meals a day will keep you leaner than eating 3 larger ones. Possibly, but not because of any effects on metabolism or utilization of nutrients, but because the more frequently you eat, the less likely to be ravenously hungry you are, and therefore the less likely that you overeat. So again, it comes down to calories consumed and nothing else.

That meal looks good.

Honestly man, I don't get it. You've been eating that same pre-bed meal for a while now. Have you gotten fat yet? No. So why are you asking if it's going to make you fat?

So how could you ever attribute any fat you gain to the pre-bed meal anyway? You'd never know.

But fair enough. I can see that if eating before bed DID increase the likelihood of fat gain (given an equivalent number of daily calories) you'd want to know about it.

What kind of cottage cheese do you eat? You said that meal has just 1-2 g of sugar, but the cottage cheese I see at stores suually has like 5-6 g per half cup.
