Duchaine (RIP) Body OPUS_KETOGENIC TROUBLESHOOTING

Ok, here I am trying the Body Opus Ketogenic Diet Mr. Dan Duchaine (RIP) formulate in his book (BODY OPUS).

Is basically consist of 5 day ot ZERO carbs (HARD TO DO), Moderate Protein and High FAT, with 2 days of carb up.

The idea is to get the Blood Glucose under 50, and get the body in ketosis. On the Six and Seventh Day, you do a recomposition, were you basically carb up, eating every 2-3 hours.

Well, My question deals with what can stop you from entering in to the ketogenic state:

I have been monitoring my Blood Glucose (GLucometer-TRUE TRACK SYSTEM) and Keto-sticks. My blood glucose, on the four day was on 80 (and it should have been under 50). My KetoStick read low to moderate (TAN COLOR), and they should have bee on Large (DEEPPURPLE COLOR).

Other than been on Testosternos ReplacemenT Therapy (200mg/weeK), Taking NOVALDEX (10mg), Avodart (apetite Supresant) and vitaming complex (vitamin B), and splenda; WHAT IS STALLING MY KETOSIS>.. I mean, eating no carb for 4 days is not fun, and not even reaching the ketosis state... well it make this whole thing futile.

Impossible for me to do since I can go hypoglycaemic. But I go pretty low and high unsaturated fat. Some people's body manages blood sugar tightly. I am not one such person
 
you should only be in moderate - if purple then you are dehydrated.

You would be better on a carb cycle bro - keto will give you minimal muscle gains + training hard with intensity is impossible.

I posted em before Johnson - was simply tryin to help a brother out. Like you say, most people dont need to see what I gotta say AGAIN as its all available in search and all been said before by others.

Hey bro,

Dont become obsessed with keto sticks - they are only an indicator. Stick to the diet and the results will come.

I cycle on a 4 day basis - 0 carbs, 0 carbs, moderate carbs, high carbs.

Basically 0 carbs day hit standard keto style diet. On carbs days lower the fat level substantially, hit carbs with low GI's, no fructose still etc.

Keep the protein high, keep the cals up with natty peanut butter, add in some Lipoflame and the results will come.

if your interested check my progress pics below - 8 weeks on the diet. Plus at that time I wasnt doing any cardio. If you add in cardio am on an empty stomach (low intensity) that will make a big difference.

Thanks brother for the posts... so far my BODYOPUS diet has stalled. I have been making my progress with the glucometer, scale and ketosticks... in all... and comparing to Mr. Duchaines parameters, I have not reached ketosis. Here are the result for this week

According the the Body Opus book, I shoul have reach ketosis on the third day, having a glucomenter below 50, and the ketostick should have been deep purple.

The lowest I manage get on the glucometer was 71, on wednesday, with small traces on keto on the urine. But on thursday and friday My gluco increases, and my ketostick only got The weight I loss was water. Not fat.

I do have to say that this is like my 6 week on this bodyopus diet... may be my body already adjusted, and I am taking Testosterone (HRT) at 200mg/wk with Novaldex at 5mg/day.

My plan is to increase Novaldex at 10/mg per day and continue on this diet. I am also taking Proscar and Phentermine (Adipex).

ANy thoughs?
