Can someone explain to me in detail how u can get dips to be more of a chest exercise than a triceps exercise or vice versa....i know it has to do with your form.
To get dips to focus more on your chest....lean forward as much as possible while maintaining balance. To get them to target tri's try to keep your body perpendicular with the floor or ground and keep your elbows as close as possible to your sides.
Lean forward as much as possible... flare your elbows out to the sides rather than close to your body... dont lockout at the top, and really focus on your pecs. Works for me!!
Think of it as simulating a bench press-type motion. The more you lean foward (elbows out), the more you're pressing away from your body, as opposed to pressing directly downward if you were straight up and down dips.
