ive been lifting on or off for a while but recently have been in a big off period, trying to come out of it and mainly lose fat. a few short years ago i was 5feet 11 carrying 240 still with a 32in waist, now after dieting im 269 with a 38in or more gut. I know 3 meals a deal doesnt cut it, im thinking at my weight to try and maintain muscle i need to be around 2k calories a day in 5 or 6 meals, does that sound right, to cut some fat?

any advice here?

thanks in advance

depends on how much muscle mass you have. might be best to just pick a healthy diet at around 3000 cals per day, some days a little higher, some a little lower.and maintain it for awhile if you wanna lose fat progressively and maintain, possibly add lean mass. these are just some ideas..but, try around 250-350grams of protein per day. with maybe 200-300grams of carbs per day....lets say you go with 300gr. of protein and 300gr. of carbs. thats around 2400+ cals per day, factor in around50-70gr. of fat, and yer getting close to 3000 cals/day or so.
some do better on higher fat, higher protein and less carbs. you gotta play with ratios to see where you feel best.
