Deadlifting my way to Happiness - Al420's log

Brought my jump rope to the new gym last night (yeah, this one has squat racks) .... I did 15 one-minute intervals though ... Good stuff! And my first 'bouncy' workout post-op ... :)

I like MMA, but don't know much beyond UFC/PRIDE....
 
Don't do 5x5 for your deload; even with 70% that's still more volume than you need/want. Deloads are something you have to play around with to see what works, but working up to one (rather than 5) set of 5 or doing 3x3 where you would've done 5x5 would be more reasonable.

That's some serious HIIT cardio, jump roping is great!

Yesterdays workout:

Front Squat:95 x10, 135x5, 155x5, 185x5, 225x3 - missed rep 4
GP Rows:135x5, 155x5, 175x5, 195x5
Lat Pulls:165x8x3
Close Grip Pull Downs:115x10, 145x8, 165x6
Preacher Curl:75x8x3
DB Rear Delt:20'sx10, 25'sx8, 30'sx8

I am not eating enough which is why I missed my final squat set. I felt fine but lost it in the hole - oh well, I am already thinking about the next couple weeks being deload weeks. Not sure how I will do but I hope I can take a few extra days off of lifting. It will take some will power to do so.

It's really fun taking time off. I'm amazed with all the free time I seem to have when I'm not working out. Why not deload for a week and then take a week off???
 
FF - Why don't you go fuck yourself. I just may do that - don;t know about a week off, but may deload for 2-3 weeks.

Sgt - I think so. I did a 9 week 5x5 and then 2 weeks of 20 reppers and then the past 10 weeks have been nutz fo I guess more like 20+ weeks
