I tried my normal 45 minutes spin class on an empty stomach (only had coffee ) and after cardio, I did my back workout. Not a good idea, my lifts were not heavy
I learned my lesson is to eat 1-2 hours before lifting

how would someone do this if they don't lift weights and are not at all bothered by muscle loss, would I eat carbs after my morning cardio on an empty stomach?
What I was thinking of doing was doing cardio on an empty stomach and then eating some carbs about 30mins after, or should I eat fat/pro aswell, I'm not bothered about muscle loss just fat burning?!?
Thanx!

I would do cardio an empty stomach (coffee & sweetner), eat fat + protein meal
Then train, then have your protein + carbs meal

I'm not sure I understand why I should eat fat and protein after cardio on an empty stomach, I must admit that I am not a big breakfast person and normally I just eat a bowl of cereal with skimmed milk, not because I am hungry in the morning but to get my metabolism going.

I'm not too keen on eating fat but how about I just have a protein shake after my morning cardio then wait a couple of hours until I have my proper breakfast (which is normally chicken sandwiches on granary bread)?

I know you have mentioned several times you were not concerned with muscle loss...I'm scratching my head each time I think about this. You do realize that the more lean muscle tissue you have - the more bodyfat you will metabolize as your 'metabolism' is higher due to the higher lean mass ratio to bodyfat. Eating a more well-rounded nutritionally sound breakfast and diet in general is going to be so much healthier.

Not trying to tell you what to think - just speaking about overall health. Protien shake is fine, even though whole food is a better first meal - shake second meal. Take care.
