Hi guys its me cubanito's bro Im 15 y/o 185lbs bench about 225 squat maybe 245 and clean about 175.Thursday afternoon I was gonna warm up before I maxed out. This was on incline bench, the weight was pretty far behind me...I reached back tried to get the bar.It was only 135 which I can rep out alot but when I tried to unrack myself my left rotator cuff seemed to twist far back and popped out of place.Couldnt move my arm for about 2 minutes and pain was very bad.Well I only went up to 165 on the incline,I know I can do about 195-205 but the pain was intolerable.I've been taking ibuprofen and the pain is down today but Im worried because when I walk I can feel that my rotator cuff is just moving about freely (kinda like a loose feeling). What do you guys think I should do my next bench day is monday and I really wanna get back in the gym and work out but I dont want it to be counterproductive.Well thanks for your help guys,Im gonna go put a heat pad on.

dude if i were you i would go get that checked out before you hurt yourself even worse. who cares about ur next bench day just get it checked do make sure it is healed good.

Best case scenario is a slight strain to the rotator cuff. Worst case scenario is a tear to the rotator cuff. Either way I would try to get it diagnosed by a professional as soon as possible. Remember, whenever you have pain it is a sign that the body has been injured in some way. Don't work the shoulder again until you are sure what the problem is. Good luck!

Definately get it checked out ASAP! Forget ur next bench day until you get this checked out....I'd recommend an Ortho rather than a Chiro.... but either way start somewhere :fro:

First off, you can not feel your rotator cuff move around freely. Your cuff is made up of four muscle groups that help in the motion of your arm. At your age, being 15, it would be extremely rare for you to have torn your rotator cuff. It sounds more like you partially sublexed, or dislocated your shoulder which may have resulted in a labral tear. The labrom is a band of tissue that goes around the glenoid, which is the socket that your shoulder moves around in. The labrum acts to stabilize the shoulder and if torn or streched out can lead to an unstable shoulder. This may be what you think you can feel inside your shoulder. Best thing to do is see an orthopedic Dr. who will be able to tell you more after an examination. This is not something that you would want to let get out of hand. The ibuprofein is a good idea. Take about 800mg a day for a week or two. If it doesnt get any better go to the Dr. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

I was pretty much going to say some of the same things Latamier said in his excellent post.

Go to a Dr. Do not take chances.
