Cottage Cheese De-appreciation thread!!!

I know the shit is good for you but how the fuck can you bros eat that shit. I even tried just swallowing the shit so I wouldn't taste it but it didn't matter. Between the taste and the texture, it makes me gag! I'm sure adding fruit would greatly improve the taste but I'm trying to keep my cutting diet plain and simple.

Looks like I'm sticking with Casein shakes forever!

Many props to you bro out there that can eat that rotted milk bullshit!!! haha
 
Have you tried eating it on a piece of toast? Or with a bagel.

The 4% fat ones are better tasting than the non fat ones.

I agree. Something about the curdles that just turn me off.
 
I don't mind it at all..I throw in blueberries and strawberries in it. If you have a handful of each, it will not throw off your diet. I eat it almost every night and I am 9-10%bf not on anything for months.
 
I eat 200g of it most nights. Organic cottage cheese is much better as it contains CLA and creatine. It also tastes better. I used to get the fat free variety with pineapple but then looked on the back and a 300g pot had 35g of sugar in it lol



oh btw I just spoon it in and swallow it hole, and take gulps of green tea inbetween. Most nights before bed I have a cup of green tea made with 2 tea bags, 200g cottage cheese and 2g fish oil. For a few days I took shots of olive oil too but stopped because I got told excessive consumption is linked with extra oestrogen production

Pineapple only good way to eat cottage cheese.. I can choke it down but it's not pleasent.. UGH.. Throw some pepper on it too..
 
i love cottage cheese. its great with almost everything, you can use it for a substitute for lots of things(ex-use cottage cheese in tuna instead of mayo)

I love the shit, I just eat the 1% milk fat kind right out of the tub every night. Never tried it with fruit though, seems weird.
 
I mix half cottage cheese, half yogurt and add fruit. But plain cottage cheese does not bother me at all.
 
Cottage cheese is delicious. Usually I just eat it straight out the container.
Taste good in everything though.. tossed in scrambelled eggs is good.

Never tried cottage cheese with peanut butter, that seems weird.. lol..
 
I love cottage cheese, I really like using it as salad dressing cause I cant stand any kind of real dressing on my salad.

Man I used to be able to sleep after coffee but not anymore. Somewhere in my 30's that talent disappeared! I've been wanting to try adding the CC but just the look of it horrifies me...
 
I always hated cottage cheese. But mentioning getting the one with fat, it tastes so much better. Also been using this instead of Mayo in my tuna. Have been making tuna for others and they can't even tell there is no mayo anymore.
 
i find cottage cheese to be disgusting. for that reason along with imo the superior alternative (whole eggs) i never touched it.

iv been doin the hot sauce alot lately but im starting to get sick of it. I think Ill start putting blueberries in it now...

and having it post workout w/ honey is a great idea for a now supps alternative to shakes, i might do that...
 
It always amazes me how many people hate cottage cheese. I grew up eating it and never thought twice. Its great with ice cold fruit and is also good with salt and pepper on it. I can eat it by the container...my wife gags if she just sees me eating it.

Its a super food for athletes but I too can not for the life of me eat the stuff.

I eat 1 cup of non-fat cottage cheese mid-morning w/fresh fruit. Try the Kroger brand. To me it is by far the best tasting. It has a smoother texture than the other brands.
 
I like cottage cheese a lot, but it does have a lot of sodium in it so watch out.

yeah i don't eat it very much because of this-i like it with pineapple though
1/2 a cup of the 1% Nordica brand has 430 mgs of sodium.
Max dose/day in Canada is 2300 mg
In UK it's 1600 though

240g cottage cheese
1 scoop choc whey protein
2 tbsp of all natural peanut butter
400ml of water

blend it..drink it..done !
 
blend it with some pesto or just plain fresh basil and stuff some pasta with it - then bake. lotsa protien and lotsa taste...
 
Get the Prarie Farms 4% milkfat cottage cheese. All other brands taste like shit compared to it. Prarie Farms is actually delicious and has a very good flavor compared to the other brands. I am not sure why it is so much better, but it is.

Hard to eat, even with fruit. I get horrible gas and stomach pains from it, so I don't eat it as much anymore. I do have a pancake recipe that uses it.
 
I don't know what you guys are all taking about... Honestly I hated it at first... but you can make it SO MANY DIFF WAYS... all taste amazing

Option1: With cucumbers, dash of salt ( Add some tomatoes if you want)
2: With Fruits, Mostly berries (Optional: Splenda or stevia if you want)
3: With 1 Scoop of protein, and water ( Optional: splenda or Stevia)
4: With 1 scoop of Protein & ANPB!! Tastes Amazing.. (Optional Splenda or Stevia)

If you can't love one of the above, than your probably one of those people that has milk with his protein (Post Workout) because you can't stand the water.... SO Stop whining
 
One thing you should know about Cottage cheese is that it tastes like almost anything you mix it with.

Put a little fruit preserves in it, some cinnamon, or black pepper tastes good with it from my experience.
 
funny...I don't mind it really. I happen to like the little chunks. It reminds me of tapioca. anyone ever put it in a blender? maybe mix that with a teaspoon of baking cocoa and maybe some cream cheese?
 
I love it with pineapple chunks or on its own on a jacket potato. Love it. Never tried anythin else with it but I might try some of these ideas.

Buy a food processor (you can buy a mini one for like $15)... Mix CC, protein powder and about a tablespoon of unsweetened (no carb) soy milk (yes, really).

Delish... Like really.

Im around 24 right now, on a strick diet.

well stop eatin so much ya fat f***. lol jp man. If your actually on a strict diet its most likely your genetics. Some people's bodies just dont wanna let go of the fat. Im sure you know this tho. If you want some tips and help hit me up with a pm. even if its just to brainstorm on what we can do to get that bf down man, id be glad to help. :)

just bought a small tub of cottage cheese and thought of this thread..lol.. I typically buy whatever seems to be the most generic, but this time I purchased a 2% version...How's it different?...personally I think its less "soupy" than the watery version with curds..Its almost a chunky pudding with a dry after taste. Didn't really like it. I'd recommend sticking with the standard version..It may be a bit watery, but stirs up well and goes down easier. Anyone ever add chocolate powder to it? If you can make a chocolate cheesecake, why not flavor this stuff up?
 
You can definitely flavor cottage cheese, though I admit I haven't been particularly adventurous. Would be interested to hear/try others' recommendations.

I've tried the pb/cc mix... choked it down, but didn't enjoy it much. May have had too much peanut butter. Pepper is good; pepper with a little cayenne is even better.

Other good combos are peaches, granola, blueberries, strawberries, pears, mandarin oranges.

Not recommended: raspberries. Trust me on this one.
 
1-2 a week, i hit a tub of chunky low fat cottage cheese and add a tablespoon of natural peanut butter just before bed , as a change from a whey shake with oil
 
2 cups CC
4 tbls. natural PB
100ml Water
2 scoops chocolate whey
Blend well.

I make this and divid it into 3 containers and put them in the fridge. The next night it is kindof like mousse. I eat it right before bed everynight.
Really tasty!
 
Cottage cheese is great with eggs. It's also very good with peas. Different brands will have completely different textures. The only con of cottage cheese is the ridiculous amount of sodium.
 
i tried putting blueberries n i d say it is delicious! i can finish it in no time with blueberries so easy to eat
 
Oh yeah, I forgot to say in my post, low fat and no fat cottage cheese have slightly more protein than regular cottage cheese.
 
Guys i just tried cottage cheese for the first time. Heard it's great to eat before bed. First bite, not so bad. Second bite gaged, with a little bit coming up. Third bite, couldn't swallow the shit. Is there anything i can mix it with that will be light and beneficial during my sleep?
