correlation between DB press and bar bench

Is there any correlation between the amount of weight you do dumbell incline press with and what you can do on the incline press with the barbell.. Or even flat db and flat bench...

I use 110lbs db inclines... And can barely do 275lbs for 6 on incline... That doesnt seem right...

feel free to list your DB presses and corresponding barbell presses

wELL i GUESS THATS SEEMS ABOUT RIGHT YOUR ALWAYS GONNA BE ABLE TO LIFT MORE ON BARBELL THAN DUMBELL,I REP 90-1OO'S INCLINE DB AND ON BARBELL INCLINE ABOUT195-225 DEPENDING ON HOW I FEEL BUT THE AMOUNT OF WHEIGHT DON'T MEAN SHIT UNLESS YOU ARE A POWERLIFTER,oH AND THOSE ARE TRUE LIFTS NOT SOME OF THIS I WEIGH 175LBS AND BENCH 315 FOR 10 REPS BULLSHIT YOU HERE ON HERE, THE MAY SUCK BUT THERE TRUE.:)

p.s. sorry for the caps

i've been wondering the same thing
on flat bench db i can do 115s for 6 reps and on flat bench 325 for 4
on incline i do 105s for 5 reps and incline bench 270 for 4 reps
guess it all depends on the form though

Everyone is different, but I remember reading a while ago that a difference of around 20% is a good rule of thumb (barbell being greater then the dumbbell by 20%).

Sounds about right bro. I've maxed out for a single 315 on incline and don't do real heavy weight on the dumbs( prefer not to have someone help me get them up) but I'll do 100's for 12 easy with short breaks inbetween sets.

So, since you don't like to have help getting the heavier DB's up, do you mostly use them for warmups, then move to BB for reps? I ask because I am starting to run into the same thing. Pain in the ass to get the DB's up to the starting position.

Thanks,

I never tried more than 315 on a barbell flat bench or incline but have done 150's on both an incline bench and also on a 65cm swiss ball for sets of 5-6. I just can't use a bar,I suck at it and dont care if I get any good at it-especially with a bad R. shoulder.
