^ me either girl, but I would suggest the same things as well...

I also love broc & TONS of it, I'm lucky it works for me.

$.02

When eating out (and 'in') I think it's important to also realize that even those items say 'Fat Free' and Low Carb that does not imply Low calorie...those can add up really quick

:chomp:

Same as above. Moving away from salads tho & more to the steamed veggies like asparagus or broccoli. Any dressing or sauce I request on the side, cook the meat plain & make sure no sauce. Sometimes you need to watch the marinades or seasoning because I can taste the salt in stuff now. Baked potato or sweet potato, nothing on it.

Mexican is my favorite go-out food. I often get the fajitas w/o the tortilla shell and bury it all in jalapenos & salsa!

thanks everyone for the replies and coments

I had a thought after I read through this thread. It is hard to try to change nutrition when you have been eating one way most of your life. Its somewhat like quitting smoking some people go cold turkey, so ease into it. For me when I wanted a change - I went cold turkey. I had a dietician (who was also a national level BB and knowledgeable about athletes) put together a diet for me with the goal of BB competition someday. Because I weighed 105 at 25% bf and looked like a stick, it took 3 yrs to build lean muscle. I've eaten this way now for 8 years and its just like a way of life.

Maybe a structured diet of the same *or somewhat similar foods every day for ~ 6 straight weeks might really make a change for her. The body is like a machine in many ways. If you eat the same things at the same time, drink the same amount of water...take the same supplements/vitamins - it knows whats coming. It operates at peak performance, metabolism and energy high - fat loss rapid...you get the idea. It worked for many people I knew who wanted a change. If you want some assistance with this, just let me know. Take care.

If I'm eating out, I'll order grilled chicken, and grilled veggies, and I find out how they are cooking it and with what, then tell them not to grill the food with any oil at all. I always get some funny looks when I do this, but hmmm I don't care. ;)

LOL.. you know once at a resturant they refused to cook to my 'spec' so I told the waiter that I was allergic to certain oils and marinades and that if they added anything to the food i'd have a horrible food allergy and blow up like a blow fish...

That did the trick

i'm so gonna pay for that lie one day.
