I've gone into ketosis three times now, and have notice that every time right before I go into it I almost pass out. My eyes get all shadowed and I can't see anything, my earring sounds like everyones talking to me in a box, and I get extremely light headed. It lasts like 10 minutes (its a great feeling, like smoking grade-A weed) and after its done I go use a ketostix and it shows trace ketosis. I had used one an hour before this happened and I was not in ketosis at all. Is it possible to know exactly when your body goes into ketosis?

ROFL, i dunno why, but i find that hilarious :D

Why are you going in and out of Ketosis? I've been in it for 4 months straight :)

I went out because of because of carb-up, but after finding out how shitty I feel on carb-ups I don't think I will have another for quite a while.

For most folks 'going into ketosis' is a gradual thing, biochemically speaking. There is no magic moment when you body suddenly starts using ketones for energy. This happens all the time at a low level in people on normal high carb diets. Even the definition of ketosis can be controversial. Lay people consider a purple ketostix to be the definition of ketosis, but if you are in deep ketosis on a calorie restricted diet and drinking plenty of water then the ketosix are a poor indicator of ketosis. A blood test for ketones is a more reliable measurement, but even then conditions such as dehydration can affect the measurement.

Perhaps your body is very sensitive to ketones, or lack of blood glucose. Perhaps you are dehydrated. Perhaps both. Certainly I felt very tunnel visioned and light headed both before ketosis and during ketosis. In fact it didn't go away until my carb-ups which was when I felt good again. So we're all different!
