Can Men & Women Be Friends Without Sex?

I want to know if men & women can be friends without the man eventually wanting to have sex with the woman. Sorta like "When Harry Met Sally".

Most of my really close friends have been women and I know I eventually would've boinked any of them given the chance. Even the ones that weren't generally considered "good looking". I had one friend that I called "Spike" because she had punk hairdos. The left side of her head was long red hair past her shoulders; the entire right side was buzzcut to about 1/4 inch. Before that she had a Mohawk with 3 or 4 (I forgot) 18 inch long spikes that stuck straight out...this is where the nickname came from. I even had a t-shirt with a picture someone made of her. She dressed cool but when I first saw her I thought "man, that's one messed up chick". She was pretty much everything I didn't like in a girl. After a few months of staring at her in awe we finally spoke one day. We ended up being best buddies, so much that all the other regular clubbies thought we were a couple because were always holding hands. We never had sex but I can recall a few New Year's eve parties where I wished our midnight kisses lasted alot longer. I know for a fact she didn't like me that way so nothing was happening whether I wanted it or not.

The way i see it if a guy likes a girl well enough to hang around her that much then he likes her well enough to sleep with her. I'm not saying he's necesarily gonna do anything about it, but he's thinking it even if he doesn't say anything. Once you're friends it doesn't matter how she looks; it's like she's got the bag on from that point. If you say they can be friends only if she's ugly, ask yourself how many friends you have that you truly think are heinous looking? If he really found her THAT ugly they wouldn't be friends to begin with.

Note to the inevitable clueless fucks who will miss the point of the question - I'm not talking about being friends with ex-girlfriends here. I get along fine with all my ex's, except that one bitch.....

I purposely left out an option like "only if she's ugly" because if he truly thought she was ugly they wouldn't be friends to begin with. It's a very debatable topic. I've had girls as friends and I would probbly sleep with them if it the situation called for it.

I actually have a friend who is a woman and the only reason I haven't sleep with her is because we dont persue it. I've actually stayed nights in the same bed as her just to sleep but not to have sex.

For you women it's different because you're not turned on right away, you have to get "in the mood" or whatever it is you call it.

I do admit some guys do become friends with a hot girl but probably because they would rather at least be friends than not be able to talk to her at all.

i don't mind surrounding myself with them because they are all great guys and i've been friends with them for 10+ years. when i was becoming friends with people in high school, i wasn't picking them based on whether i thought they would sleep with me or not. these are the people i bonded with and have remained close to over the years. i view them as my brothers.
