*Bunny* 2005 - 2006 Log

Re: *Bunny* 2005 Log

Yeah I did a detox last month off all caffeine and sugar and I had migraines for two days straight! I haven't been on any thermos since like June. I'm suprised how up in the morning I am with no extra kicks! You can do it... it just takes a bit of an adjustment. SO you get migraines. You know they can be stress induced. You could go to a massage therapist and have them work on your neck muscles. I have been working with two clients the past couple months and their migraines have diminished to maybe 25% of what they were. It can help you out... plus relax you! If I were there I would hook you up!

Treil I wish you could hook me up, I'd be in a much better place right now.

I have received two Full Body Massages since Sept. (my bday woo hoo) ... and I am in love. I wish I could get a full body deep tissue every two weeks, OMG would that be so what I need for tension relief, relaxation and muscle theraphy for ME. I KNOW I would be a happier person, but I simpy cannot afford it.

This topic reminds me of a something I wanted to elaborate on.

I can totally handle cycling thermos now... once I'm out of bed, I am fine at the gym.

I have done this before without a problem, but last few months, moreso now, I have been doing my weight workouts now in the A.M., on empty with no thermos or Cee and I am just fine. In fact, my strength as of late has been mad crazy, and I have to check myself at the gym so I don't get hurt (too much too fast weight-wise; cardio I can seriously do for hours and trust me, these thighs aren't going ANYWHERE, RIIIIIGHT ULTER? LOL :qt: )

Once I got it out of my head that I can't live without my thermo's or I MUST take this magic pill simply to get going, I finally forced myself to try cycling and have gotten much better results (for now). I've always learned that cycling kick starts your metabolism and clears up your receptors, so when you start back up you experience some of the original effects you did when you first took the pill to begin with. Now that I've tried it for myself, I believe that does work best for me. But with anything, you don't know if It'll work if you don't try it, and what has worked before, may not always work again. So we shall see when I hit that pothole ...

Re: *Bunny* 2005 Log

Bunny - how do you find the am weight workouts? I know you're superwoman, but would you recommend them? Did you lose any muscle?

Thanks girl

LOL... k

I may contradict myself later, but I definitely prefer A.M. weights. It completely works for me right now. Would I recommend it for someone trying to add muscle (non-competitor)? I don't see why not. I'm inclined to say "definitely eat something" before an A.M workout though. I prefer to keep an empty stomach to I can test how this flip flop scenario will work for me, and of course share my results. I will never know what works for me until I try it, ya know? Since, I don't plan on competing, I feel I have more room to test these crazy bunny ideas. It makes me feel better that I can educate myself a little better by being my own lab rat, and feel better equipped when offering advice to those who actually want my opinion. :)

At first it was a change; change is always good and refreshing. Plus with the new gym, it's a different scene.

I am interested in seeing how this will impact my muscle, because in all honesty, I am not concerned about losing a little muscle, simply because I have ALOT for me right now.

I am planning to post week to week pics to see exactly what I have to work with after I can get most of this water off. I'm giving myself about 4-6 weeks, by that time if will have been almost a year since I started my log, and I'll be able to see where I'm at, where I've been, and where I would like to be headed.

Sorry for the novel...

My fiance use to make me get up and train at 5:30 AM. I wanted to KILL him and everyone around me! lol Um, I'm NOT a morning person. It was, however, a great feeling to know I was done for the day and had the evening to do whatever.

^^ I hear that. I never use to be a morning person but things keep sneaking up on me and changing... WTF lol :) ^^ that feeling is also a reason I am doing what I am now ...

If I don't go to the gym this time of year in the morning I am a total wreck at work. Like people who need their coffee... I need my gym ...

Makes sleeping in more pleasurable on non-work days (if there are such things for me anymore) ..
blah

Thank you IP ;) I LOVE diet Pepsi. Although some will argue, I was convinced the caffeine helped rid my migraines, which usually come full force this time of year. I was sitting in my office with all the lights off yesterday, popping Exced. Migraine, which, for me, really does work & hit in 10 minutes.

RELIEF!

I'm taking a week or 2 off from all thermo's so my Diet Pespi is the only thing that keeps me going & wakes me up. Surprising, my skin has NEVER looked better either LOL. Go figure

:D
^^ to clarify, all stimulatory thermo's ... I'll still be taken Levorex because it's a great supplement period :)

Re: *Bunny* 2005 Log

Question....

How do you know the % of fat burned??

Or is that based on a formula for RPE??

Re: *Bunny* 2005 Log

gotcha...so it uses the intensity rate and gives a number....it doesnt take into account meal timing etc.

Nope, not that I know of. Also doesn't take into account the help of certain supps, which I assume is covered under the "etc" ...

Oh Reeeeeealllllly?
Very cool.

Peeps round these parts, in my office and at home, have gone 18+ days with whatever they caught/had, but not pneumonia, even though I told Mr. B he was symptomatic ... and he is STILL coughing / clearing / tired / sniffling / sore throat and it's been at LEAST 4 weeks for him ... ANYWAY ... Get well soon. :rose:

Makes sleeping in more pleasurable on non-work days (if there are such things for me anymore) ..

Yeah I 'm getting used to the whole A.m, and p.m. work-outs.. In my third week of that. It doesn't help that I have this lovely cold similar to what Shadow has. Sore throat, hardly any voice, and tired. It's so stupid I got it from this client of mine while I was working in clinic. She said,"I'm on antibiotics I'm not contagious!" Yeah righttttt!
Anyway glad to hear you're doing better.

I don't know how you get up so early with such energy.
I've been getting up at 5:30 since the end of Sept and I'm still not used to it.

I guess I am an AM bunny nowadays, b/c I have this mindset that if I don’t get to the gym in the AM my day is off, and usually it is… I’m very moody/crabby etc.

By the time I get home from work, I am eager to hit to the gym again and work out my frustrations… if I even sit down for a minute, I will not want to get up, so I feel like I’m constantly go-go-go right now… I cannot wait until it slows down around here. We were down 3 people for 2 weeks, and then 2 for one week, and now only 1 for who knows how long … (which is a lot since a small company will not waste any $$ to hire anyone new or temps etc) … I work at a version of “The Firm” …

BLAH … anyway… guess I need sounding board.

My body had its 2-day break so now it’s back to the grind…

The way my calendar is filling up, looks like I wont be back posting like my old self until end of January ... if then.

Just wanted to wish everyone happy holidays !

The logs on EF help motivate those 'guests' who are afraid to sign up. I hope even the newbs with zero post count, who frequent the forum for help, fun and a sense Camaraderie, that one day, they will share by saying hi, starting a log, and join in on the path to a healthy lifestyle, and making new friends who are full of life, not to mention TONS of helpful tips and tricks ...

I have to get back to work ... Have a great Holiday and New Year if I don't get a chance to post up later.

to be continued...

Good I'm glad you enjoyed your massage and Holidays!
I gave 3 massages on saturday. I like massaging people it shows me how many other people are jacked up posture wise and most don't even know it! Better yet is that I can help them with losing some of their distortions and pain.
Anyway!!! I hope you have a good day!

Wow you grew also??? it said 5'8 3/4 from your first log, ha ha I just read it that's why...
I was going to ask are you developing your own routines and weight or are you getting assistance?? You have packed on quite a bit of muscle over the past year and I was just wondering if this was from your research or the added help of a trainer. I mean I could only dream of weighing 160 or so pounds at 9% body fat. I'm only about two inches shorter then you. (5'7 1/4)

I'm a freak of nature... :)

On my right leg 5 '8 3/4 left leg 5'9 - was hit by a car when I was younger...
:) more like 1/8 of a difference but i can feel it when I sprint...

Very brief and going to leave out some details... from what I've learned on EF, research and experimenting with my body, I was able to achieve what I have in such short time frame. I'm not going to mention any specific names (you know who you are) but I really absorbed what I've learned from all those I've talked to here, not to mention years of experience what not to do, what to do, but I just never applied it (i.e 5-6 small meals a day etc, heavier weights few reps.) I knew the basics but never had the will to implement it until my life changed and I found EF ... I was one of those who was afraid to try something different ... we can see where "something different" has got me. :)

From Jan 05 to April 05 (few weeks before my shoot when I changed things up to cut) I was following Skittles/Shadow Project, as best as I could. After that, I was maintaining and trying to figure out what to do next as certain opps presented themselves, staying lean. Applying what I've learned to tweak my diet to more of a "living lean year round kinda thing". I was bored, craving knowledge, learning and getting alot of attention at the gym, so I entertained the idea of maybe doing a show and trying to get something to help revamp my training ... From mid to late June, I had a brief ~2.5 month stint with a Training Partner who helped add another view on training (Negatives, plyos, burn outs) and was a little more old school. That part of my experience was more sets, more exercises, and now I had a spot to help maximize my lifts, more to Wide Grip Pull Ups, Flat bench BB, etc., really too many things to name. Basically I took myself to the next level. After that, I helped My BF tweak somethings hence the pics in my sig and previous posts. Sept - Dec was my time off, body need rest, a huge refeed, moving, work stress (HUGE), and definitely to re-establish some rocky relationships and redefine my goals. Some things didn't happen and I was crushed but I ate and drank and lived and trainined when I could, and didn't have a set meal plan for a bulking cycle. It just all worked itself out. :) Also flipped my training to AM with cardio after weights, (heavy weights, lower reps 6-8, if I hit 10 I increased weight)

Everything I have done since the project, I've had a part in and always created my own diet based on the basic principles. With a TP you have to compensate for each other to make sure indiviudal goals are not being compromised, so it was a give and take learning experience. He actually leaned out quite a bit when we were training, not to mention earned a few new clients b/c of me. :) (His day job was/is a PT)

I create my diet and training. I help others that ask and need it. I try different things and will continue to do so as long as my goals do not drastically change ... I'd rather not say what my current goals are b/c last time I got my hopes up that backfired in my face and I took it really hard.

I'm actually creating diet for someone right now :)

Amazing, Impossible, incorrect, wrong, etc. :) I've heard it all. I just document and record what I see and do, all i can do. SO Thank You! But Impressed, yes, you and me both.

I am assuming minor Discrepancies, as with anything. ALL #'s aside, you can SEE the difference either way. I remember that day I had the 7-11 pt pinch hitting 9.8, there were 3 pt pinches that were around 10 % somethin'.

In case you or anyone ever wondered ... I'm 'au naturale' ... bottom half of post :) http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4972377&postcount=2305

:)

Re: *Bunny* 2005 Log

Wow, Bunny. I mean...you are absolutely right. You can literally SEE the difference, and it is fantastic and amazing to consider. You had a time in your life when everything was just absolutely perfect, in terms of favorable muscular adaptation. I'd love to see your training logs and diet plan for that time period. I'll bet you've studied it, endlessly.

I am beyond impressed, and I will be forthright and share that the possibility crossed my mind regarding use. I trust what you have written 100%, and I'm glad you shared. You should be very, very proud...you are quite an accomplishment and a testimony to intelligence and hard work.

Thanks again.

This also graphically illustrates the difference that building muscle makes to the bodyfat measure. You can be extremelly lean & be a higher bodyfat % if you are light in the muscle area - that soooo tells you (esp women!) how important it is to have some solid muscle. Otherwise you will forever be trying to "tone up & get lean" but you will never look as good as you will w/ a little extra muscle. On me 12% is nothing fantastic - certainly not as lean as Buns looks at 12%. I literally have to get down to 7-8% to get the same lean look that she has.

Re: *Bunny* 2005 Log

Sassy, that is an excellent point. I have been reading with more and more frequency about the philosophy of simply taking an extended period of time (an entire year) to devote to intelligent muscle gain. If one has the mental stability and long-term viewpoint, it makes sense. By adding 10-20 lbs. of muscle in 1 year, someone can take care of what most people spend 2 years of frustration trying to accomplish. I think for most people, however, it is difficult to consider because of perceived image issues.

At any rate, I don't want to hijack *Bunny*'s thread, but I couldn't agree with you more. Adding muscle makes a large difference in bodyfat percentage that is much easier to maintain, compared to achieving and maintaining a bodyfat percentage with less muscle.

I've really been seeing this lately. At 23% bf, I REALLY had to watch the carb intake and get my cardio in.

I haven't done cardio in TWO WEEKS and with the lower bf, I only gain a fraction of what I did back then - whatever I eat. :)

I'm so glad that you are past that, now! Great feeling, isn't it? :)

I taught strength training and other fitness-related classes at Texas A&M for 6 years, and I taught and preached and begged and pleaded the entire time for women to forget the scale and the stupid number. Some get it, but unfortunately...most don't. :worried:

Dang that experience is really awesome. You and IP really have a great, yet completely different life, I just cannot get over it. Every day you both amaze me someHOW :) That is really awesome.

Re: the weight issue ... I really have NO CHOICE but to accept that I will NEVER ever weight 130, or maybe even 140 ever again. And when I did, it was not a healthy look for my frame at ALL. I will NEVER have 'thin' legs and must embrace the muscles. It's like, why continue obsessing about a body or figure I will NEVER and could NEVER have. I was not born to have it, and unless muscle is physically removed from my body, and structure of my bones completely changed, I will never be what many women try so hard to look like (i.e. hollywood model thin can you see my bones).

I am really grateful I found EF.... I feel I would still be in a very dark place without the knowledge and reality check I experience daily.

Isn't it an awesome feeling that you KNOW what you can do with your body and what your limits are? ....and that you KNOW mainstream society is NOT IT!!! lol Muscle is SOOOOO much more sexy than skinny-fat syndrome!

I'm so happy I found all of you!

I couldn't agree more with the two of you!! The mainstream society's view is so sick and twisted. Plus, 99% of them are VERY uneducated as far as nutrition and fitness goes...it is actually REALLY sad!! A muscular, fit body is WAY more sexy then the thin "fat" body that the majority of today's society views as beautiful (it is anything BUT beautiful)!! :qt:

I just wanted to give you a big ole' smile for everything you said. You have learned to truly appreciate what you have been given, and there is no amount of money that can purchase the satisfaction and happiness that comes with that. Heck, not only do you appreciate it, but you love it and love improving it!

GREAT post. :) :D

Thank YOU!!! Like anyone, I will have my off days ... but I find telling myself those things, OFTEN, if not daily, helps the reality sit in.

For me, If "I" don't believe it, it's NOT going to happen, doesn't matter how many times I hear it from others over and over and over ... in any situation, i.e. relationships too ...

Your post is dead on. ;)

Re: *Bunny* 2005 Log

Well, I had the most horrendous food fit last night ... so I slept on it and satisfied what cravings were left today... but man was it tough, and I didn't go out without a fight.

I put up a hissy fit & wouldn't let Mr. B put in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, b/c I was craving sweets and that movie was full of things I was craving .... I'm glad b/c he is finally starting to recognize my BF's (bitch fits) and be my strength when I'm feeling week. Plus he no longer gets mad at me b/c sometimes I say things I don't mean when I can't get my way or eat some cupcakes :)

Way to go honey!

I'm such a friggin idiot sometimes.
