Brickgirl got Whooped like a little dog :)

Well that was a fun show ;) Totally got whooped, I was a little too big for the other girls I believe, plus I didn't have rhinestones on every one of my eyelashes :) I came in the best shape of any contest and I hit my routine and I couldn't ask for better, so I am more than happy, the most fun for me is preparing for it, the actual show's in my opionion are a big downer, even the ones I won, I had much more fun doing leg presses till I puke :) Although, it was kinda sexy seeing a girl backstage doing leg press with stilleto heals on :) Everyone was extremly nice and we had a good time, This will be my last fitness show and I'm thinking of taking up alligator wrestling or something, Gonna keep improving on my body though and gonna take about 6 months off from "supplements" to let everything get back to normal :) probably do a power lifting meet next for fun, that way, I don't have to walk around in heels :) We took a few pics while at the motel room, and my husband was way too nervous to take any good ones, so if you want to look at some lousy pics, here they are :)

I would like to thank everyone on the board for all the help, simply amazing the advice people like wilson6 and just everyone can give you to make it all come together, the road there is by far a blast, that is the best part, so train your asses off, just because you might not be doing a contest, the training is the best!!!! Thanks again guys/girls :)

It worked perfect, i was just about to email you, I didn't have to worry about saturday night show, even though I went up on stage saturday night, I wasn't being judged, the dehydration thing was a little more important to me at that point, so i drank some and smoothed out but it was no big deal, but yes sir, thank you, it worked perfect :)

Yeah, thats the thing, I do this for complete fun, I won 2 shows and dangit it qualified me for a bigger show or I would have stopped there, so I felt the need to go ahead and do this one, the other girls, of course were very sweet, but dang, they take everything so serious, I'm not like that at all, when I didn't make the top 5 I was like "Kick ass! see you all, i'm going to IHOP" and took the family there and ate while they were still all backstage :) It's kinda spooky when you hear about 1 girl breaking her neck preparing for the show, and they all had injuries like torn hamstrings and shoulders and ankles and wrists and a girl had to be carried off stage, it's just not worth it to me to have a broken neck out of a hobby :) call me crazy :)

you look awesome!!! truly an inspiration, i would have asked that the judges all have their eyes checked.....because they were obviously blind. :eyes:

sweetie you looked great!!! You won two that is great also, U can win them all right,,lol atleast thats what everyone tells me..lol

If you are happy with your self than thats all that matters, and you had fun doing it, so congrats to you... You looked amazing!!! :bigkiss:

Now you know what I was getting at earlier, fitness in my opinion has turned into a demolition derby of sorts, problem is, your body is the car. I still think you should take a shot at figure. Qualifying for pro status shouldn't be that hard at this point and why not make a little money out of a hobby?

because I don't like heels, and I don't like rhinestones on every single eyelash and i'm more of the type of girl who can now focus more on her grappling (ground fighting) which is much safer than fitness routines. Physique/figure is just not for me :) But many people have told me the same thing, including most all the judges.

Truly amazing and a great inspiration....Congratulations on your own personal accomplishments!! To hell with what the judges think!!

Perhaps they could start a grappling round for figure. They score you on how many of the opponents rhinestones you could pluck off in 60 seconds while subduing your opponent in a choke hold. Instead of trophies, you could have those boards like bug collectors maintain, but with eyelashes from your opponents pinned on them instead of bugs. Maybe even a few finger nails. The fake ones pop off pretty well when you apply a crushing blow to the tip with a broken off shoe heel ;)

"But many people have told me the same thing, including most all the judges."

Think cash and free supplements here BG. Take advantage of it while you have the physique and drive to train.

Brickgirl, those judges must need glasses. You look awesome. :D

...... and how the heck do girls put rhinestones on their eyelashes? Won't the flop over?

Thanks everyone! wilson6, you crack me up :) I'm just not the figure type of girl, I don't get all dressed up like that, heck, sweatpants is what I wore on our last anniversary dinner. I don't think I even have a pair of heals that isn't made for stage :) But yes, they honestly had them on there upper and lower eye lashes, I don't see how they could even open there eyes, they must have put just as much practice into that as they did there fitness routines :) But like I said, I would never bash one of those girls, they all worked there asses off and many of them have been doing it for 5-6 years now and heck, this was my first year ever competing :) I can promise you, figure is not for me, money is not an issue for me thanks to my husband and the free supplements I would want, well, they don't come from weider ;) :)

Damn - you got some sweet-ass hammies! :rate: I'll bet none of the other girls had anything close to that or your glute/ham tie-in, or your nice V taper, or... Have you considered competing in a different federation/org - one that rewards a more developed physique for fitness or figure? It's great you do it for fun, but you should be on stage.

You look wonderful, sweetie! Great definition and balance. I can totally understand your reasons for not wanting to continue in fitness, though - you only get one body, gotta take care of it.

And the heel thing is a little silly. I get annoyed I have to practice my mandatories in heels. Nothing like a double back bicep with one calf spiked to make you wonder if you'll break an ankle.

BG -those pics don't do you justice. What a great set of legs you've got girl! Well done and now time to shot for another challenge-well after taking some well deserved r and r first.-Valerie

Looks like I missed the pics :(

But the pics I've seen in the past are amazing! I wish I had an ounce of your determination.
Congrats on achieving your dream and good luck w/ PL.

I took first place last year at a bench meet, it was right at the peak of bulking up before my first fitness contest, it was a blast, I loved it and heals would not have been appropriate there :) give that one site an hour and the pics will be back up real soon :)

Brickgirl-

You look great. You still did alot better than all the people who have never competed. For someone to get down a good routine in a one year period of time takes alot of work and dedication. Thanks for sharing your results.

Just out of curiousity, what was your first place lift in that powerlifting contest?

Ricko

I can't see the pics either, but I'm sure you look fantastic - I do remember you having incredible legs :) Wouldn't mind seeing them on a leg press in heels, either ... (oops, forget I said that, he heh).

I love your attitude - my thoughts exactly - it's what it takes to get there that is the real thrill - placings aren't a big issue. I mean, it's nice to be higher up than lower down on the scale, but, whatever ... really honestly being able to say to yourself 'I put every part of me into this' is the big thrill, IMO. I always feel like a goddess on stage, though - it's a huge high for me.

Wish I could have cheered you on a bit more - unfortunately I was rather wrapped up in my own injuries, diet, etc. Sorry :( Your progress thread was amazing though - thanks for that.

Great work, girl - looking forward to seeing a few more of these longer posts from you :)

(Funny how the muscle mags don't have any probs with women benching in heels .... ;) Or, well, draped on the bench stroking the bb, LMFAO)

155lb flat bench is all I needed to win in my class. I could have went higher, but didn't have to and wasn't going to risk missing it :)

I bought a pair of those shoes in a brief attempt at doing a figure show when I couldn't prep in time for the bb -- holy crap --- I NEVER thought those things could be so dangerous to walk in!!!! I can imagine I could survive 2 years of psycho training only to break my neck walking out on stage in those 4" fuck me pumps.

Congrats and constant AWESOME motivation !!!!!!!!

BG, tell me why in sam hell did you not place in this contest????^$#*^%(*%$$ are those friggin' judges on crack or what???

also forgive the ignorance but why are your abs looking flater that in the last "update" shot??

BTW, YOU GOT MY VOTE!!!

in the ab shot updates I Flex my abs, you don't flex your abs at all during a fitness show, actually, you are not supposed to flex anything at all, even during quarter turns, the head judge will yell at you in front of everyone and tell you to relax if you are flexing at all. But my abs were MUCH tighter at the show, had veins running all through them.

iis it too late to take arecent ab shot ? would they look like they did at the contest?
also whats the deal with not placing??

well, the placings are up to the judges :) and this was my first big show, and everyone else has had there faces out there for years, and this is my first year even competing ever.soooooooooo. :) and I took an ab shot but I can't post because the site has exceeded it's limit :) will wait until it calms down on the site then i will post it. :)

LMFAO!! Yup! You're also on the see-food diet, huh?

I finally got your site to work - BG, you are a BABE - ooohh, you look SO hot! Really decent size, symmetry - the whole damn package! And nice hair too :) Wow, I wish I could have seen you in real life.

What do they wear for alligator wrestling?

Spatts - I feel deeply for you in the coming months, considering they span Christmas and New Year. Not that that's a big issue, naturally, heh heh, for folks like us who do what we decide to do based on goals not calenders, but nonetheless ..... :D

Anyway, I can't wait to see you come Feb.

Deep Squats set after set after set....I usually end with leg press with 495 on it with 10 reps, 8 second rest, 10 reps, 8 second rest, 10 reps, 8 seconds rest, 10 reps, 8 second rest, 10 reps

bg, on those deep squats, what is your foot position? because im so tall i have to compensate for the long torso/ leverage thing. i squat w/ my feet w -i- d- e and forward , toes at the base of the smith front support. also i saw ...maybe spattts, telling someone to make sure theyre using glutes and hams instead of thighs. whats the best way to do this??

I don't think there really is a best way to do it, it all depends on your body and if it can handle a certain position comfortably and what area's you are more wanting to focus on. I do bodybuilding style which is a narrow stance, the feet are about shoulder width apart. I always wrap my knee's on anything over my bodyweight. :)

yes, I don't know if it's more a mental thing of making the knee joint feel real tight, or if it actually physically helps, but I wouldn't lift anything over my bodyweight without them, I just don't like putting that much pressure on my joints without there being some kind of support there, I do plenty of work without the wraps under my bodyweight so the tendons/ligaments are strong, but there is no way I would try over my body weight without them since they are not used to that weight.

wow you look fab:)

so sorry you didnt win still many more comps for you to conquer:D

where did you get the shorts and yop it was a really nice outfit but i never know where to buy them, thanks:confused:

My fitness outfit? CJ made it, she is amazing, no one else should ever step on a stage without her making your suit. :)
