I really like the sound of that. It seems to be hard to hit my middle to upper back and that sounds like it would really hit it hard.

Thanks for posting that spatts. I will have to try it. Im going to look into the BSU gym since I am a student there. Maybe they have a bar since my twinkie gym that I go to now doesnt.
 
Because we wanted to do this. There are probably a million things we could've done, but we chose this.
 
The difference with a SSB is that it throws you forward. If you look at it hanging on the J-hook, the yoke is not straight up and down, it's angled. The SSB also weighs 65 pounds, with a lot of that extra weight right there around your head and shoulders pulling you down.
 
well....so!....some of us dont have a SSB! so there!

guess us kids with holy knees in our baggys will have to just make do with what we have.

i'll just take my standard bar and go home! la dee dah! :D

Torture Update

Everything from right about where my shoulder blades pinch together to my erectors is F R I E D !!!! I thought I'd feel it higher up on my back, maybe I was doing them wrong (??). Between reverse band deadlifts at 400+ pounds, and these, I'm pretty much wasted from the shoulder blades down.

This is how I did them: SSB Reverse Crunch

Hannibal said he is sore in the upper back, but he did less bending over and just kind of rounded his shoulders down and back up. I think, next time, I will do a couple sets the way I did them, and a couple his way, so I get my whole back. Also, I have to make a conscious effort to not put my hips into it, because I'm used to using this bar for GMs.
