i had norplant
omg the side effects were enough to make u want to kill yourself
i didnt know that about the iuds and having a kid thing, my friend never told me about that
i dont use anything right now i have to say that since my norplant has run dry three years ago i am just recently starting to get back on track or feel as if i am
i am at a good weight and acne has cleared and no more depression and suicidal tendencies plus the not having so much stress helps too
im much happier now

oh yeah another horrible side effect of norplant they usually never acknowledge is anxiety
i still have anxiety bad and sometimes its unbearable i have never gone to the doc for meds cause i feel as if im whining or being a big baby
maybe im just stubborn
if it gets any worse i am going

Bella I DO NOT I repeat DO NOT even consider Depo as an alternative to the pill. I went on it put on pounds, lost my sex drive, and got killer headaches. Right now the only birth control I am on is condoms.

Thats another thing I am afraid of...i quit smoking & went on the pill at the same time..I put 20lbs on so fast..i don't want that to happen again...

I would use condoms but they bother me...i always feel raw after I have sex.

IUD & Norplant...1st time I am hearing about it...Now I really feel I know nothing about birth control....

I don't know what to do??...Is it risky to still go with out....How true is that pre cum theory???

If they make you feel raw you should try the non latex, non spermicide condoms, I think they will work fine....that's what I had to do. :)

^ good idea but to tell you the truth it feels better not using a condom

Ladies I need some help...

For 3 yrs I was on the pill. I was taking Alesse at one point and then my doctor switched me to Orthotricyclen. I decided to come off the pill because I would always forget to take it and it was screwing up my whole men. cycle.

I really need to go back on birth control. I don't use protection and everytime I am a little late for my period I get nervous. Besides the pill, I have heard of the shot and the patch. Anyone one using either of these?

Get the Nuvaring - it's internal, you don't feel it, the guy doesn't feel it - it looks like a rubber band, and you leave in for 3 weeks and take out on the 4th week

I've been on yasmin for the last year. It has a diuretic in it and I've not put on a pound. The sides have been my chest getting bigger to the point it hurts most of the time and a lowered threshold for BS in general which leads to me being bitchy.

I HATE being on bc. I really do. But with full time work and school I feel like it's something I need to do for the next couple of years.

I have a non-hormonal IUD. They DO work for people who has not had children, the only problem can be that it hurts a little more to get them in place. I have not had my IUD for very long, but since there are no hormones involved there shall not be any sides like bloating, weightgain or psycological effects. It can however give more bleading but I am willing to take that, I have always felt horrible while on bc-pills. But, yes, there can also be a higher risk of infection. However, if you, Bella Michela, had problems with bc-pills you might want to look into non-hormonal IUD.
