BFold - DeadLift Question Bro!

CrimsonKing

New member
Changed up my routine this week to incorporate some deads for reps (10 reps, 4 sets) performed on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Anyway, on my recover days I’ve noticed that my obliques are getting sore from the Deads! Has this happened to you? Is this indicative of a performance problem with the movement on my part?

Thanks!

if I was you I'd only do deads once a week.if you are doing 4 sets of 10 reps each working out hard you shouldnt be able to do them twice a week and even if you can I wouldnt suggest it.Your just mking yourself more prone for injury,

Your abs are a big part of the deadlift, so it shouldn't be uncommon to feel it in the obliques. Also, I've heard many guys on here suggest not to go so high on reps. Keep it low. I go singles up to 5 reps. No more.

I haven't done a heavy set above a single in a long time. Can't do them 2x per week either.

Remember NOT to tighten your abs in...push them OUT...WAYYYYYY out!!!

Deadlifting requires a tight, strong core. A core is made up of back (upper and lower), abs, and obliques. You MUST have a strong core for the 3 main lifts. The stronger the core, the higher your numbers. I would be surprised if your obliques DIDN'T hurt.
