best diet to lose an extra 15-20lbs of flab

almost-pro

i have not been competing in over a year. i was put on anti-depressants(several diff kinds) and I gained about 20lbs of flab that seems to be awful hard to lose. never had a problem losing wieght until i started this anti-depressants. usually i can eat a fairly normal diet, and do some cardio to maintain a lean body, but it seems the medication makes that hard to do. anyone else on anti-depressants have any luck losing weight?

i have started the lipo/trex stack. i am going to start hitting 25 minutes early morning cardio 5x/week. any other suggestions?

Maybe you can get off the anti depressant that causes the problem. Talk to your doctor and see which it could be. Check the known side effects for each drug and see which one has "increased appetite" or "weight gain" listed.

For cutting, don't eat starchy stuff at night and don't eat 2 hours before bed; if you sleep at 11, then don't eat after 9.

Stuff like fried veggies and egg whites + a few yolks is good.

If you eat so that you're about 80% full, you won't have to count calories. Driking more water or tea can make you feel full.

Eat easy to digest food, like eggs, and avoid heavy, hard to digest foods like cheese.

Take ginger before meals to ease digestion and nutrient absorption.

Take r-ALA. Take green tea extract.

Avoid starches like rice, pasta, bread, potatoes. Don't much on candy or snack foods. Don't eat pie.

Post in the diet forum.

I dont agree with avoiding rice pasta and potatoes just eat them earlier in the day when your body can use the energy from them, also before bed have a low carb shake this will help from going so long without food at night and preserve more muscle

This will really work,i did it,had several buddies do it,worked for them too....up to 30 lbs lost in 6 weeks.
1-No sweets
2-No fried foods
3-No white starch(only whole wheat pasta,brown rice,etc)
4-do more cardio
......6 days a week, eat whatever you want on the 7th day,bet my check on it......

You might have better luck posting this on the diet board. But, and I'm not trying to be smart here, weight loss comes down to; eat less move more. Aviod the starchy foods (bread, pasta and ALL sugar). Keep up the running that you are doing and add weight lifting 3 days a week to your workouts. Weight lifting is better for losing weight than running, IMHO.

Best of Luck. -VC-
