Beautiful Disaster

Hey ya'll.
Ok I have been reading posts here for a long time and I am determined to get into shape. I eat very clean, not junk food, fast food NEVER, and a "eat whatever i want" on Sundays.
I do bike riding 5 days a week outside (real bike) for about 45 minutes. I really hate that I have an office job so I am not really active from 9-5 :worried: its frustrating. I do weights on Mon. Wed. and Fridays.
I have not gotten bf% tested. I can tell you that I am 5'7 and I weighed 147 when I woke up this morning. UGH!!!! I would rather be 135. So Where on earth do I start.

Hey girl! :wavey: Welcome to EF!

I hear you on the office job, drives me nuts to be sedentary...

I think you've made the right start by coming here, there is TONS of helpful info on here and the girls are an amazing support staff, full of motivation, inspiration etc... (^^ This Includes Shadow)

I think you need to back away from the scale and not get hung up on those numbers (as best you can, I know it's hard)... Body Fat measurements and tape measurements are my best guide, but I'd be lying is I said I didn't love see the scale in the 140's :rolleyes:

A side note : I drink so much water I can flux 11 lbs a day if I wanted and I'm sure I documented it in my log somewhere ... I know some others have similar stories...

Hey girl! Glad you posed up! First, let us embrace our 147 lb! I am 5'7", current 145 lb, bodyfat ... eh irrelevant at this point .. somewhere below 11%. I expect to compete in 3 weeks around 130 lb, but prob 8 of those lbs lost will be water weight. Don't poo poo the 147. If you knew how long it took me to get to 147 you wouldn't take it lightly ;). I also drive a desk for a living and have for many years.

The first critical piece of info to get is your bodyfat. That will tell you what that 147 lb is made up of. Then, where to start -- you're already off to a killer start just posting up here. Step 2 -- check the stickies at the top of the board and start asking questions. Identifying a diet & training regimen are the easy part. The hard part is getting it to fit your lifestylel so it become a regular and consistent fixture in your life.

Right now I have a terrible HANGOVER. I don't know if it is just since I have cut back on my eating but I can ONLY handle 4 beers a nite and I am a wreck the next day...Coffee is great :coffee: THANks yall :rose:

Good morning!!

I've noticed that the healthier I've been eating that it takes less drinks to make me hungover & also I feel like complete crap the next day and for a few days afterwards. It also makes me bloated for days.

I'm thinking of now completely eliminating my 1x per week drink nite.

jenscat, if it weren't for my "i don't care about my body, I'll drink till im wasted" friends I could totally eliminate mine. Im working on that though seriously. I don't need beer maybe fajitas but NOT beer :chomp: THANK GOD ITS FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!
