I lifted for a year, got in best shape thus far.
However.
I picked up a little kid, and felt something pop out and back in in my back, Ouch. I was floored and out for a week.

I never had problems with back up to this point.
My back is always out of whack now, whats up with me????????????????????

Can I get my back to normal again, or am I screwed with a bad back now?

Welcome to your early 30s :) . Once you hit your late 20s, minor back problems become a fact of life for most lifters. I'd suggest you start on some lower back-strengthening excercises such as deadlifts, good mornings, sldls, and focus on strengthening your abs.

Why don't people go to the doctor? I don't know how many threads I read about "Something hurts, will it get better?"

GO TO THE FUCKING DOCTOR!!!!!!

LOL

Am I wrong though????

Well, yes and no. This is obviously no place for medical advice, but we give it sometimes anyway. I only know that if I went to the doc every time I felt a twinge, crank, or pull, I'd be making appts every month.

There's pain you take seriously and pain you just have to wait out. It's a matter of knowing your body I suppose. But I've felt exactly what this guy's felt, just picking up something small, or taking a step wrong. It's rare, but it happens. And yeah, you can go to the doc and basically get some idea of what happened and some painkillers. But the result is the same either way: you gotta stay off it and wait it out.
