Well, after 5 year lay off I am back in the gym hard and mid way through my first cycle in 6 years. Back in 2001 I weighed 260-270lbs (5'11) and was pretty strong and had great size. I had kids and layed off the juice and ultimately quit working out all together. I stayed very active and have a very physical job but I got down to 225lbs and stayed there for the last 5 years. I finally got the urge back and figured I am getting older and better do something. I have been back heavily in the gym for 3 months and am on week 9 of a 250mg per week cycle of test cyp only.
Here are my results.
3 months ago body weight pre cycle = 227lbs
1st day back in the gym I was benching 275 for 4 reps, doing 80lbs dumbells on inclines for 4 reps, doing 70lb dumbell on shouler presses for 4 reps etc, etc. I was very discouraged and didnt even want to try deads or squats. lol
Now after only 3 months and 9weeks into this little 250mg test only cycle.
body weight = 252lbs
Bench is coming alone and I can hit 315 for 7-8 reps and 335 for 4 reps.
Incline dumbells worksets with 110's for 8, 120's for 6 reps, and 130's for 4 reps
shoulder press dumbells 100's for 6 reps, 110's for 4
1st day of deadlifts in 5 years (no joke) 315 for 6 (3 sets) and 405 for a single( fairly easy), I forgot how bad they suck. lol
1st time doing squats in 5 years either.... 315 for 8 reps (deep) and did 4 sets of that. I think this will increase quickly, I guess we'll see.
Now I know this is weak to alot of you guys, but I dont think its gonna take me long at all to be back in the game again. For what its worth. Back in 2001 I was squating 600......deadlifting 600.......and benching 315 for 10 reps and working out with 130's dumbells. I dont think I'm too far off from that again and I was on huge cycles back then. My bench has always sucked balls because of tendonitis. I am drinking a gallon of water a day and trying to get in as much protein as possible. Only other supplements I am taking are creatine and l-glutamine.
Sorry for the long read I am just happy that I have the desire again to train hard. I wondered if I would ever really do it again. My goal is to be as big and strong as possible without injury. I am not looking for a six pack, so cardio is low on my list.
What do you guys think should be my next cycle. I have probably 10 more weeks I can run the test at 250 per week (I had a 20ml bottle) or I can up the dose to 500 for 5 more weeks. I figured I would do a longer low dose cycle since I havent done anything in years. opinions?
