B-monster squat pics

It's hard to see the hip crease because of all of the dark gear & clothing. We need some contrast for a more exact judgement. It's looks right at parrallel to me, maybe just a hair too high (1/4" - 1/2"). Good to see pictures of the Dungeon... :D

I would have to agree with Screwball. Hard to tell with all the black, but it does look right at Parallel too. Hope you aren't planning any USAPL meets...

:lmao:

fyi:

that is exactly where i am squatting too... maybe even a tad lower. are your feet totally splayed to the sides? 50+ inches?

if you are going to enter a meet, you want to make sure you get yourself a tight pair of double grooves and you can bring your stance in a tad. you will bust parallel.

i say this of course, in theory. i'll let you know :)

Yeah, call me Johnny Cash.

I know they ain't the best pics, and the model on the box is a goofball, but I was hoping this is a good height to be doing speed work, cause anything lower just kills my hip joints, even with suit bottoms on.

Irish, I have my feet as wide as they can go. My feet are under the rack. I cannot squat that wide without the box, as every time I try this experiment, I fall over backward, so bringing in the stance is a necessity for a free squat.

And to the smart-eleks, I think the USAPL is safe from the benchmonster. I need to get an IPA chapter started in Oklahoma so I can do a 3 lift meet. I am thinking with a triple canvass suit, a couple pairs of doubled briefs, 16 meter knee wraps and 3 lifting belts, I might be able to quarter squat my bodyweight. Anyone thing that would pass?

Of course if I managed to get into all that gear I would only be good for one attempt, then I would be too tired to continue the meet.

All seriousness aside, I am considering getting a new Squat suit even if I am not going to compete in 3 lifts anytime soon, cause my Z-suit is pulling me over backward every time I try and get low. Sucks.

Bench- definately try and bring your stance in, it will let you go lower. if your stance is 50" now, bring it in to 46". I had the same problem, i was going about 40"-42" wide, but to get down i would have to dip my hips and that would cause me to lean over and get no drive from the hole. Once i brought it in, i could get out of the hole easier, and get down easier.

As for the triple layer canvas, a bunch of groove breifs...etc. That has already been tried. I think some guy had on a double layer canvas suit, and 5 pairs of groove breifs, thinking he could squat big. So he unracks like 900 lbs, a huge PR, goes to squat, and just got shot forward and dropped the weight.

if you are not going to compete, dont waste your money on a suit yet. talk to me when you do get ready to order.

get another pair of tighter frantz double grooves for training..... it took me a few tries to get a really perfect fitting pair.

do NOT pull your feet in for training. Overload those hips. the time to pull your feet in is at the meet with the gear on.

i think the usapl is safe from most of us or should i say "my patella tendon is safe from the USAPL"

take care.
