I don't know I want to know this. I guess in case one night I am lazy and don't feel like walking to the other side of the barbell taking weight off equally. Anybody ever test this? Was it funny when you tried it?
The EZ curl bar (20IB) will flip at 35IB, on a bench with the bar supports at shoulder width. 35-25IB and it will flip if you recklessly strip the opposing weight side but if you careful it'll stay.
The on a normal width bench with the 45IB bar I'm not sure but 2 45s can be on a side at least I believe. But it tips if you're not carefull stripping the weights I believe. So its close.
does anyone elses gym have those little stopper things, you slide them across over the top of the bar to stop it falling off when your taking weights off. They prolly only need them coz the damn supports are to damn close together
If anyone dares to try this...just watch your chin. I saw a guy get knock out one time when he had 3 45's on one side and took the last 45 off the other. Bar flipped up and caught him under the chin...then he dropped the 45 he took off and it almost land on his foot. Needless to say that the EMS was called.
