anyone belive in the mayan mystery of 2012?

Re: anyone belive in the myan mystery of 2012?

To me that's exactly what they are, so sorry. I'm the same way about zombie carpenters, people that think zombie carpenters will save us all, people that think pigs are filthy, etc. Don't be so defensive.
I'm defensive because I run into this type of ignorance all the time. Even atheists will have more respect for something "Rabbi so and so" or "Archbishop yadda yadda" says about some esoteric matter. They have recognizable books and big buildings and have been badmouthing us for centuries, so automatically they're more credible than if the same thing were said by an elder in a pagan tradition. That's ignorance and bigotry, short and sweet.

All pagans get lumped into the "Cult of the Flying Spaghetti Monster" and that's an insult. That's like saying all Christians are hypocritical asshats.

I've been on this board for four years now. You've read my posts. I don't doubt that my beliefs are unusual to you, but be honest here, do I seem like a fucking idiot? Do you think that maybe I'm intelligent enough to make logical decisions and perhaps have very good reasons for believing what I do (not to mention having the guts to put it out the for potential derision)? What pisses me off is that because my beliefs aren't mainstream, it's acceptable to mock them, and indirectly, me. My point is, I don't give a flying fuck if you don't understand them but at least give me the courtesy of not mocking them more than you would mock any religion.

I do mock every religion. You give karma when I do but get butthurt when I say I think rocks and crystals are as stupid as a guy parting a sea so some slaves can cross.

Where did I do that?

If the Mayan prophesy is true, I wish someone would just tell us, so I could go on a three years spending spree with my retirement savings.

Still, I hope it's true, this world is ready for a good purging. Everything is corrupt now.

Re: anyone belive in the myan mystery of 2012?

You have a number of times. I can only find one since we can't go back and see out whole K history anymore.
Funny, I can only find one, as well, and I don't see it as mocking other religions so much. See I'm not a big karma giving away type person, I have a tendency more to purge it periodically. But here's the hit (I don't have time to play screen capture). What you said made my husband laugh:

Holyshit. How would you... 16-Apr-2009 08:26 PM jnevin Popejebus K for making my hubby laugh!!!

You were referring to Mel Gibson, BTW.

i guess my question is. . .if they were so friggin' gifted, why weren't they able to predict their own demise?? imho, their calendar kinda loses some of it's punch upon their extinction. . .doesn't really have anything to do with their beliefs. . .it's like people that claim to be able to see the future. . .yeah. . .ummm. . .gimme the powerball numbers or shut up, m'kay??

all great civilizations seem destined for this. Rome, Greece, the Persians etc, etc. The mayans weren't a "specific" race, they were just a nation of various ethnicities. I think they were all descendants from the asian migration which came down from the north through Canada, what is now the U.S and mexico. From what I understand they still really don't know why the Mayan civilizaton dissolved. There are still mayans running around in south america though.....the DNA still exists, but the civilization is gone.

check out the bible code as well. it also points to the year 2012. Its based on the hebrew text thats been around for thousands of years and the mathamatical probabilities of it are unlikely not to be true
