Anybody ever try training like arnold?

In his book, encyclopedia of bodybuilding he shows working each bodypart 3 times a week. He used 2 a day splits. I know trying workouts that bodybuilders say they use isn't a good idea, but has anybody followed it for 8-10 weeks?

A couple of friends of mine did it years ago. They got overtrained fast and got nothing out of it except for aches and pains.
 
I call it overtraining. Look at Dorian Yates. . . the man used heavy weights, intensity, and low volume. He trained 4 days per week at 45 min to 1 hr sessions. Dorian also trained each muscle group once per week. Dorian had an impressive bodyweight of 265lbs at 5'10". Arnold had a great physique, but I think he was more of a pumper. I couldn't imagine training each muscle group three times per week.
 
read again........ thats for beginers...........

its like this.........::::

beginner = train everything 3 times per week.
intermediate = train everything 2 times per week.
advanced = train everything 1 per week..

he didnt train everything but once a week from like the time he was 20 on up till now.

Never follow a routine suggested by a pro bodybuilder. There genetics, drugs and ability to build muscle mass allows them to train like this. Routines suggested by pros are useless to 99% of trainees.
 
true the competition training section does state that...... but it is a little outdated.

they didnt do cardio back then like we do now........ nor wore the diuretics near as popluar or as powerful.

arnold had to train that much just to have an aerobic benifit ontop of his training.
