Annie's first log

Ok, I'm trying to lose weight in order to run the London Marathon in April next year.

I didn't realise until a couple of weeks ago exactly how much weight I had gained, I'm now a very embarrassing 170lbs.

I have joined the gym again, my diet has always been good, but last year I was training 7 days a week, then went to zero, so the weight was bound to go up. Due to the fact I work full time, have college at weekends, and have a teenage son, I am limited to going to the gym a max. of 4 times a week.

I've been using fitday.com to keep an eye on what I'm doing as well.

Diet:
Breakfast - 1 egg + 2 egg whites

Snack - almonds

Lunch - tuna & veg.

Snack - almonds

Dinner - chicken & veg (if I go to the gym I add brown rice).

If I go the gym I have a protein shake before and after.

At night if I'm hungry I have 2 egg whites. (This I do about 3 times a week).

If anyone has any advice about what my diet I would appreciate it.

Exercise - Cardio 4 times a week, weights 3 times a week.

I realise that some cardio should be done in the morning, but all I can do is walk at the moment, as I'm too heavy to run.

I put this up thanks to Ilk as she suggested that by logging my progress I may get extra encouragement - so thanks you!

Congrats and good luck on your new venture.
I think it's best to have carbs b4 traning and not protein. Protein should be reserved for after working out to feed the muscles. I would cut out the proteinn drink b4 the gym (work-out).....Just my suggestion.
Also, cardio does not need to be done in the morning. The benefits from cardio are as effective anytime of the day.

Good luck and keep up the journal :-)

Anafit has great stuff....it made a difference in my belly fat....
I've checked out the website, they do a lot of different things - plus its American, and I can't find the products on any british websites.

Have you got the name of something I could look up?

I take Levorox, seasapure and Glucerrol....Im sure I spelled them wrong LOL from anafit....ALSO.....I have been using cordyceps (type of mushroom) from the health food store that increases lung function and endurance!!

Hey Annieree, I'm new to the forum as well. All the best on your journey. Also i maybe wrong here, but the content of your macro's would be good to post. Not every carb or fat is created equally. Just to ensure while your in a negative caloric state your getting the most from your intake.

Already done on the first page - its an example of what I eat each day.

Doesn't vary that much day to day, but occasionally have brown rice or pasta for dinner 2 hours before the gym.
