That is an absolutely ridiculous statement. Under that assumption, we should look for the USA, PR, Canada, Mexico, etc... to enter as a sole group. And, while your at it, all of the African nations can enter as one. The EU is not a country. It was a move to bolster a group of economies that have struggled for a period of time that the member states found to be unacceptable.

You think there is a bigger chance of there being more people gifted in different sports in the US than Norway seeing as there are 63 people in USA to every 1 person in Norway? Im just using Norway as an example.

my point wasn't that the EU is as much of a union as the USA because it obviously isnn't. It just makes it more realistic to compare the achievements because it evens the populations some more.

lol. I just don't think it's fair to compare such greatly differing populations.

Holland has only 16 million inhabitants but we are the 12th nation in the olympics in medals this year and in Sydney we placed even higher. I think that's kind of remarkable.
