i used about 50 to 70 per cent of clean max for eight or ten sets of two reps. twice a week for three weeks. tested my deadlift max shortly thereafter, 400 to 435. it may have been a combination of the cleans and cessation of deads for the same period. in any event, whatever you are doing in the deadlift department is working.
I've been alternating DLs & cleans for a few weeks, so the jury's still out. I'm not a competitive PL, OL or BB, just lifting for the fun of it. I would think that the cleans will improve my takeoff in the DL.
