All I Can Think About Is 315!!!

When i started many,many yrs ago my first bench was 65lbs, the 300 kept evading me until i was almost 30, i finally broke 400 in my 40's and 500's when i was close to 50.
i don't bench that much anymore as i can feel the wear on my joints!

Damn you guys make me feel strong for my age. When I was 17 I could press 305. I should've tried some powerlifting comps. Another buddy of mine could press 375 at the begining of his junior year in HS. But I grew up with a bunch of mean'n'potatoes rednecks! Not anymore though.

I could never get over that 285 mark and 315 felt like a truck taking it off the becnand thought it would cave me in on the way down, then I started doing heavy close grip bench and in like 3 weeks I had 315 for 3 no worries now I do slow controlled 315 for 6 no problem no spotter. Heavy close grip bench does the trick.
 
yea big guy like all others say its a mental thing. just put 320 on and lift.i betcha youll throw that bitch up there. also change is always good. then come back and destroy your old weight!
 
If there are guys taking grams of gear and barely getting 320, I'd get my shit tested fast. It sounds like your buddies are getting creatine in an injection. Creatine would put on more strength than 15lbs. All the guys i've seen juice put on 10-15lbs of strength on major muscles a week. I know high school kids putting up 380. I've seen a 140lber put up 305 at 16 yrs old. Why juice if your only puttin gon 15lbs of strength is what I'm getting at.

I mean theres guys on here taking grams+ of gear at 200+ lbs bidy weight, and they barely can put up 320. He has however been lifting since he was 13, and is now almost 23 so this might have something to do with it.
 
Aint nothing to it but to do it.

How strong are your delts and tri's? It could be that one of these muscle groups is limiting your bench weight.
 
Spend a couple of weeks working in the 235 to 260 range for between 10 and 6 reps. It's often worked for me to work lower for a little while and then hit it back up for a new PR. You might have overworked your CNS.
