i love how he suggests retirement ages be increased as life expectancies increase. I guess he thinks somehow the human race on a year by year basis just keep evolving to add years onto our life spans. I guess my great great great grandkids will live to be like 200 years old?
I guess they won't be happy till there's no such thing as retirement. I'm going to start thinking of a business that can make fiscal use of old decrepit peolpe in wheelchairs and walkers.
They should just wipe out the economy and start over with shells or something.
Well lets see... life expectancy DOES keep increasing. And people are in fact working until later in their life. Of course life expectancy is going to reach a point where it can't increase anymore, but that's when the retirement age would stop increasing as well. The problem that SS is facing is that people are living longer than was initially expected and they're putting a huge drain on the system.
I don't want to see money taken from my paycheck and then have nothing left for me when my retirement age rolls around. It's not the job of the government to babysit the population and make their retirement savings plans for them. People should have the choice as to how their money will be saved and invested for their future benefit.
