55 Year Old Senior Sprinter

Sounds like your cycle and intense training is producing some really strong results. Every now and then I throw some sprinting into my training, but I should do a little more. I like your 12 x 60 meter uphill runs; I might try it a day after my leg workout.

How is everything going so far now
are you going to Continue your oral cycle and keep training
How are joints and muscle pulling up

Knocked .50 off my 200 meter time..getting off the orals Tuesday...the only thing I've noticed is I'm more prone to leg cramps, but no negative sides.

Jeez .50 in such a short time
Imagine when you start your winter training and then start comp you will knock more then 1.00 off the time
Might even break the 200m record :p

How have you gone in body fat and muscle gain wise ?or weight

Well, that's another story. It's been quite experimental. I have only been training for sprints a year. The will power and determination is much more than when I was in high school and college, therefore over training and injuries are what we mostly deal with. Luckily all I've suffered was a strained arch a month ago that shut my training almost down.

As for your question. I didn't factor in for wait gain, nor the increase in appetite. I gained 12 to 15 lbs...mostly muscle, but next season I'll be prepared to diet and be much much lighter. I don't know what my bf is. You can see my top abs pretty good and striations in my chest and shoulders. The word 'ripped' is being used quite a bit.

Damm
I'll be starting soon trying to lower my time from 10.68
Have to go full swing

You training 5 days a week

How does power output go in the 100m?
Strong out the blocks?

Actually, my 100 needs some real work. I get out of the blocks pretty well. We have a 50m sprint, also...in the Seniors. I excel at it. The bulk of my training has been maintaining acceleration in the 200m. I've been doing a lot of chute training and have neglected my starts. That's ok..it's paid off.

Fundamentally I have something going on in the 100m I have to straighten out. I'm losing ground from 25m to 45m on the field. It's weird.

I'm certain the power will be there.

My main Meets are over till next year. I'll be resting tendinitis in my left foot for 3 weeks. I just plan on swimming, weights, and stationary bike. The main issue with seniors is that we have incredible will power and determination, so learning to keep from getting injured is a huge part of it. I over trained and battled this tendinitis for the last 2 months and couldn't train but 4 days per week (sprint work), but I'm balls out in the weight room 7 days per week. I'm going to incorporate yoga into my training.
