Sleep – Let's not even talk about it!
Three weeks left. That's the decision. Stop overthinking it, accept the short-term pain and keep pushing towards the finish line. It's temporary, and I know exactly what I'm working towards.
Training has been solid! I've genuinely enjoyed stripping back the volume, reducing my sets and focusing on quality over quantity. Making every working set count, getting the absolute most out of my body and being more intentional with the time I spend in the gym. It's been a great reminder that more isn't always better, and it's something I'll definitely be carrying forward beyond this cut.
Steps were a bit of a different story. My goal to increase them this week was very hit and miss, and didn't quite go to plan. No dramas, though. I'll reload and have another crack this week. Weight is still coming down regardless, and at this stage, that's not necessarily a bad thing. The priority now is managing the rate of loss and making sure I'm not sacrificing more muscle than necessary along the way.
The dreaded zombie phase is officially here.
I was warned about this when getting deep into a cut, but experiencing it firsthand is something else! Brain fog is real, concentration is questionable, and some days I feel like I'm running on autopilot. But the determination is still there, and right now, that's what counts.
Every decision, every action and every little 1% improvement that gets me closer to the goal has become a priority. I'm completely locked in. That does mean being a little selfish with my time and personal life, and honestly, I'm not even remotely ashamed of that. It's what this particular chapter requires.
Thankfully, I've got an incredibly patient and supportive wife in my corner, and I certainly don't take that for granted!
Now for the highlight... WE HAVE ABS BREAKTHROUGH!
Finally, after months of anticipation, I'm starting to see some definition coming through. Those little bumps and outlines around the stomach are beginning to show and seeing that physical progress makes all the hard work feel worthwhile.
This has been one of the biggest goals from the very beginning, right back in February. To finally start seeing it come to life is a pretty special feeling.
Three weeks to go. The finish line is getting closer, the body is getting leaner, the brain is getting slower, but the commitment isn't going anywhere.
Time to finish what I started.
