Is Physical Therapy a good field to go into

I have a degree in health and physed...when i was going to school PT was another year of schooling plus it was very hard to get into...i only had a 2.9 gpa(didnt really give alot of effort) so i decided to go into the fitness field instead...and did well for 8 years, but the last 2 have been shitty. PT does seem like a safe job....people always get hurt and dr's send them to pts often

no way youll get accepted with that gpa. if youre serious, find a school, see the dean of the school for sciences, see what classes you would have to retake, what route to go. they will probably tell you no chance right then if thats what they feel. if youre serious, thats what i would do.

and for going to be a nurse, again, absolutely no chance with a 2.9 gpa. thats just a ridculous recommendation.

That gpa is from over 10 years ago...does that still have any say??

Im a personal trainer and this field has got hit big time with this economy...i now make 30% less than i use to, so am thinking of making a switch to PT. Anyone know of anyone who is a PT...poistives and negatives about the industry...thanks

Yes. In big demand right now. Most offices are in serious need of extra people. Due to the economy people are getting hurt left and right. If you know what I mean?

I dunno anything about GPA's.... I had a GPA of 3.0 but that was 10 years before I even thought to go back to school. Regardless, another path was put before me. I was just trying to help out. :)

I'm pretty sure, that you can get a "physiotherapy assistant" degree/cert/whatever. (2year)It's usually just a two year program, and from there it would be much easier to get into a real physio program (3-4 more). Something to look into.

I think teen jooser, means radiologist tech. not radiologist.

Are you wanting to get into PT because: 1. it sounds cool or because: 2. it's dealing with health and doesn't require a ton of schooling?
If you answered yes to #1, GO FOR IT.
If you answered yes to #2, I would say compare the amount of needed schooling with other things related to health.

pt does require a ton of schooling and the spots are ridiculously competitive to get placed into.
