Just back from the Gym.
Today I deadlifted 655x2, and 680x1. Both are all time PR's.
45 y/o, @ 312 lbs.

Nice f'ing pulls. Congrats on the PR's

Ps..."Sorry! The administrator has specified that users can only post one message every 600 seconds."...This is really gay and is gonna turn me away from this forum pretty quickly.

Thanks for the kind words aczech.
Congrats mm107 - 3.5 x bodyweight - WOW!

I didn't have my training partner available to video my 680x1, so I did it myself which is why the video runs 1:40 for a 5 second lift.

20 y/o 85kg at 5 feet 6 inches. deadlift 200kg for 5 reps with straps and a belt. thats my pb. thats 440lbs if my conversions are right. bit shit 4 on this board.

Thanks Alcatraz. I was just uploading my latest deadlift video.
On Nov 17th I set a new PR in competition.
694.2 pounds. I tried 711.8 but it stalled at the knees.
Now I can turn it down a notch for some R & R.

wow dude, awesome pull! you are def built for deadlifting. your arms are like 4 feet long lol

I agree, hell of a lift. I'm pulling just over 500lbs but my problem is grip strength. I hate to use straps but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

You've probably already tried chalk, but if not that can really help!
If you're training for developement (instead of single rep competition) and are going for reps, there is nothing wrong with using straps and a double overhand grip. You might try the strapless overhand grip for as many warm up sets as you can. That really helped establish my grip in my early years of training.

OH i havent updated this in a while :)

705 @ 207 no, no straps either, chalk and flesh :chomp:

Powerbuilder is right chalk makes a big diff.

Im damn near close to 500 with just chalk. No belt or straps either. Hardest thing is being tall with long legs, feels like the bar takes forever to get up above my knees.

UPDATE...
one month ago i did my first DL competition...
...suprised my self... as my previous best was 465 @ 145ish... over a year ago...
...i cut some weight to make the 148 class... open men group...
...i opened with 407... easy pull...
...second lift... 440... no problem... the adrenaline rush of being there is unlike anything else ive ever experienced...
...third lift... 479.5 and it went up smooth...
...the WABDL CA state record is 512.5... so being within 35 pounds you get a 4th attempt ....
513.5 on the bar.... well i didnt get it... but i had it off the floor and about half way up and then i lost... grip... ...damn it...

won weight class (148)...
and "best male deadlifter: open men"

425 at 185lbs without a belt, back when i played football though and powerlifted religously though

thats sick dude, very strong pull right there. Thats right about where i was 4 years ago when i started competing. 570@175 was my best, keep it up it only took me 4 more years to break 700 lol. its always fun to lift at a meet against some real competition in your weight class.

Update 355@160 no belt. Hoping to pull 400 by the end of the year. I wonder if I could get it with a belt?

I am weak off the floor so I will start deading w/ 25lb plates to improve power down low. Gym doesn't have 35s

315 for 3 sets of 5. no belt/wraps or crap...but looking at your numbers........im a pencil neck!!!!!!!!Baar motionless between each rep......

damn I'm 250 and yankin 300x5x5...so my max I don't know but There's alot of guys way under 200 pulling way over 400..Damn impressive to me. If the bars bending your doing something right.

600 back in 2001 at the time I weighed 252lbs (5'11)
I havent really started back yet on trying to go way up yet. I havent deadlifted in 5 years and pulled 405 fairly easy after doing 2 sets of 315x6. I think I could get back up there pretty quick but we'll see.

650 in the 220's...685 for 4 reps in the 242's but only could pull 685 in the meet.....it was my sticking point....but my squat was 740 and almost got 780 on my 3rd but couldn't lock it...I came out the whole quick it actually suprised me...

i pulled 405x7 then pulled 315x12 to finish out my workout @215 with 20%bf....pulled 455x1 a couple of weeks ago but pulled the 405x7 with no shoes on and its was way easier getting a little closer to the floor...

405 for 8 on a good day....525 for 2...im usually pretty gassed though, since I do my deads after my squats, leg press, front squats.....i also super set the first four set with hamstrings...unconventional I know but hey I like to be different...maybe one day I'll do them fresh

I am trying to break 700 in the next few months. 500 came pretty easy for me. six plates took a lot more work. Now I am shooting for 7 plates or 675 which is getting pretty hard.

405. Getting into the 300s was easy for me, breaking 400 has taken work. Hopefully getting to 495,500 will be easier. Getting the squat way up helps tremendously.

595.2 LBS as of March 27, 2010 Sat. done @ an WABDL Power lifting meet. Onward to 600 sometime this sumer June/July/August there are meets in Humble or Kingwood, TX and Dallas, TX. (WABDL).....

hit 620, would like to see a 700 so i can call myself a beast, but im sure when i reach that ill think 800 then ill be a beast ahahhaa

Lol that's how it always is, strong is just a little bit stronger to each person than their own strength!

Had a little bet going with the boys on the opposite shift as me:

1 lift, 1 try, max dead lift .

Loser hast to wear a woman's thong under their uniform for an entire shift.

2 guys did 550 one guy did 615, I pulled off a personal best of 625. Thank god cuz I'm just not into thong

you dont think being a member of the 700+ club makes you one of the strongest people in the world? I'm far from joking.. thats an awesome acomplishment

600 may be possible for a small majority of people unjuiced but I know big, strong (450+ raw benchers) guys running g's a week who can't do it. It's all a matter of perspective.. remember most gyms aren't like nazbar and wsb and most people are pussies :p

there are huge, strong farmboy types who could probably get it unjuiced but I aint one, and I know most people who train aren't.. took a long time to get to 655 and some serious chemistry experiments :)

I've pulled 650 natural at 21 220lbs at golds gym of all places lol always been good at them

Did 455 today. Only 1 but I got it fully up. Lifting in a deficit for a while now but keep gaining strength. 405 was 3 months back or so. Lost 30lbs in that same time. I can't wait till I get down to 210. I'm at 255 now. When I drop this last 45 I'm changing to bulk again.

622 at 220#bw. Missed 650 at top. Woulda took 633 or 639 but the record was 649. Tried to break it. Work in progress. Not too shabby for 44yo

I got 455lbs yesterday. Im very happy with it. I have added 50 lbs to my lift in 4 weeks. Im going to try for 500lbs in 4 more weeks.

This last Friday I pulled 705 from 3 inch blocks. I had a suit and straps but the suit is my partners who is a lot larger than myself. Typically that block height is my weak point so that is encouraging. Oh and I did it at 240lbs and 22yo. My pr raw from the floor was 635 last year.

545 raw. I didnt know Andy Bolton and Benny took this poll. Who are the other 5 guys that we've never heard of that pulled over 1200? They must be aliens

375 raw. Hope to hit 405 with a few hundred more gallons of whole milk lol

Does dead lift have any relationship with how much you weigh i am 5.8" and weigh close to 175lbs and i am 48 years old my deadlift is 400lbs. Will work on improving it but slowly not as elusive as i used to be.

205, 5 months ago before my neck herniation problem flared up.
My goal is to get 225 or more by dec 1st.

Having this setback, I can now comfortably DL 160 without hurting or straining my neck. So if I want that goal by end of year...that would be an increase of 14lbs monthly to get there. Now on paper it looks doable lol but then i tried adding 10 lbs on saturday and yeah lol that didnt go so well!

My goals with weight lifting are hypertrophy and strength gains. I keep a journal on here....if any of u have any ideas to how to safely and effectively reach my goal ...I would appreciate it.

Sucks because over the weekend, I tried to go for 165, but my left hand kept slipping. I really don't want to use straps as i go up in weight.

Now someone showed me 5/3/1 and how there are "cycles" to maxing out and strength gains but can I follow 5/3/1 only for deadlifts? TIA for any advice u may have. :)

Meet lifts, 220 raw 710 10/14, single ply 755 3/14, 242 raw 683 11/13, single ply 744 09/14. Appears stronger @ 220 but missed 727 raw close call with soft knees and 777 single ply lockout @242. These are my over 50 age best.

500lbs here, with straps. Never gone over that, I usually go more for the 8-10 reps with deadlifts anymore though.
