Israel is bombing airports and the like because they are irresponsible and immature. And they have the unconditional support of the U.S. since 1967. Phenom, the ONE thing Israel is good at is "just lying down and dying". The only reason they are allowed to act with impunity is the United States government's undying love for these animals. (Many people in U.S. gov't. believe the jews are "god's chosen people", including the president)!!!!!

I mean, that ridiculous perspective pretty much ends all discussions, doesn't it? Israel does not listen to the U.S., and defies us at every turn. (The comical thing has been watching how the U.S. responds to all of this....we will defend Israel first, before any concerns for our own country). It's why we are in Iraq in the first place.

WHY do you think Israel's neighbors (and pretty much the rest of the world) despises it? THAT is the million dollar question...It has alot to do with it's brutal actions towards non-jews. (Which are NOT reported on by U.S. news outlets however---most people in this country already know why)

1) Closing off the supply of missiles being fired into your cities is hardly irresponsible. If it was your house getting bombed youd agree.

2) Whether we should be helping Israel is a seperate question from whether or not they are entitled to defend themselves. One can accept the premise that they are allowed, just as any other nation would be, and decide we dont need to help them do so. I have my own doubts as to whether we should be involved with them to the degree we are.

3) They were fighting and winning well before we ever sided withthem.

Its the same reason there has pretty much been a genocide of all Christians in that region, as well as any one else who doesnt share that faith. Isreal does NOT want the Lebanon area to flourish, have tourism, have industries and prosper. For they fear educated rich lebanese will conduct even more terrorism. So they do their best to keep that area in the dark ages. Ever been there? It's like the stone ages. Isreal prevents ANY foreign aid going to them. They have no choice to get iran/syria to keep them living some sort of life for their citizens.

I haven't been watching the news lately, and just managed to get an update on what is happening.

It's worrying for the world as a whole to see this situation develop into what seems like a battle ready to break all out into all out war. Maybe, it is war as we speak, That depends on the semantics.

Yes, The palestinians and Hezbollah were wrong to abduct Israeli soldiers. In exchange they require release of prisoners. However, this has happened before and the end result after a long drawn exchange of firepower, Israel caved in.

I live in a multicultural area that has a nice mix of religions and races. I've got to know a lot of muslims. A lot of them do have a feeling of disgust and hatred for Israel. Not the jews of Israel necessarily. More the policies, its practices and indiscriminate killing of innocent palestinian civillians.

Funnily enough, I was watching the news today and i believe Benjamin Nethanyou said something along the lines of "they fired a rocket and killed 2 innocent civillians and this is terrorism.." Absolutely.

However, what about the thousands that have been killed over the years in Palestine as a result of Israel military action? Is that not state sponsored terrorism? Is an israeli life worth more than an arab?

This hypocrisy is what really irritates me and a lot of other people, muslims and non muslims alike about the Israeli government.

Palestine is a key issue for muslims all over the world, extremists and non extremists. Events that unfold before our eyes, serve the purpose of fanatics and enhance their recruiment process.

Maybe if there was peace in Palestine, we would not have had the rising tide of terrorism and fundamentalism. They work on the basis of oppression, suppression and indiscriminate murder of muslims in Palestine, Iraq etc.

I genuinely believe, and im sorry to say this, that there will never be peace in the middle east. I cannot see the Palestine issue being resolved, the roadmap to peace and existance of a 2 state solution. Consequently, the situation will escalate further in the future and as a result the rest of the world suffers.

War in Middle east is detrimental to Europe, and particularly USA. USA are staunch supporters of Israel, who attack palestine using US Supplied military equipment. What does this tell muslims? That USA are sanctioning this attack.

Terrorism will always exist or more accuratly fundamentalism and its doctrine will always live on due to the past, present and future legacy of decision making of USA, and its staucnh support of Israel.
