why aren't the record companies adding track info on every cd

I have a some what large music library with tons of ripped cd's that don't have track info. I got an mp3 player for christmas so now I'm editing my library and adding track info to all the songs so that they can be added to the player (it will only allow one track 01, track 02, etc.). What a pain in the ass!!!!!! Specially the cd's that I ripped from other people and I have no idea what the album name is, I have to search the net first to figure out the album title then look for track listing. I'm sure it will be worth it in the end, I'd been wanting to do this for a while anyways. Once I'm done I'll just have to keep up with it and add track info as I rip cd's.

Whats the deal with the record companies anyways, why aren't they adding track info on everything? So far it seems that the low budget/independant labels put more effort into that shit, most of the albums I have that are missing track info are from bigger bands/labels.

yeah, why aren't those assholes spending their time and money helping to make stealing their songs easier for people like you????

I thought there were CDDB's you could hit that added all the track info automagically? if you're ripping from cd.

what is that, tell me about it and does it work for cd's that are already ripped cause I hate all the searching I have to do.

BTW
What Jimi Hendrix album has Day Tripper on it (track 3)? I'm going nuts looking this shit.

See........if you had an IPOD......this wouldn't be a problem...as when you import cd tracks to ITUNES it searches the CDDB automatically...... :)

If you use a cd ripper that supports CDDB or freedb it connects to the internet and finds the track info for the album; don't think it works on already ripped stuff.
