Okay, 20 rep deads, no way. Deads should be done Heavy and low reps.
Now squats are different. 20 rep squats rule, but take a lot of guts and determination to do them. But to do them try this.
Start off with just the bar and do 20 reps. No problem.
Start adding weight, and do it slow. The key here is not to worry about what people think of you. "Oh look at little sissy boy can only squat 25's". Fuck 'em it's not about them it's about YOU.
So, at 25 a side, do another set of 20..So how did it go? If good up it to 45's and then add 10's. But the key is to do it slow. Don't try and do 225 right out of the gate. It takes time to work your way up. It is also okay to pause for 5 -10 seconds to catch you breath, they are a part cardio exercise too.
Now for fun try, Breathing Squats. Do a search. they are 50 rep squats. 20 are easy after doing those.
I do them almost every week. I prefer doing a lighter weight for 20, tha a heavy weight for 8. Easier on the back, knees etc. But I'm an old guy (41) so have to watch these things. But I found as I went heavier 315 and up, I was cheating, not going to the floor, breaking form etc. Try them, your legs will hate you.

P.S. - As with all squatting "Ass-2-The-Floor" or not at all
