Which is the best fat burning exercise?

I've been going to the gym for absolutely ages now and go through phases of which cardio machine I like best. Used to be the bike, then it was the crosstrainer, now it's the running machine, but I know it will change again. Anyway, I just want to know, which of the following is the best fat burning exercise:

Running at a slow/medium pace (6mph/8kph)

Walking up hill on the treadmill (as high up as it will go which is level 15, whatever that is) (4mph/6kph) - I do this holding on to the handles of the machine though as I would find it rather difficult to manage to walk up hill at that level without doing it.

Crosstrainer - Level 8. Again, I do this holding on.

(I have guessed what kph is as I'm not too sure, my gym machines go in mph).

Yup...sprints/intervals.

I prefer lap swimming because it's such a great total body workout (especially if you can at least do free and breast stroke...and fly is killer on your abs) and burns a ton of calories with no impact. I don't have a pool where I can swim on a regular basis at the moment, but I used to do intervals in the pool all the time. (I miss the days of competitive swimming when I could eat whatever the heck I wanted because I was in the pool 2.5 hrs/day and would just swim it off anyway.)

They are best performed outside. You run as fast as you can for 45-60 sec and then slow to catch your breath and then repeat it.

WTF are windsprints?

they are not very good for your joints especially if you lift hard at the gym

cardio for fat burning is best at a low or mid intensity preferably in the AM or after an anerobic workout ( lifting) where the body will preferentially tap into fat reserves for fuel, where areas Sprints will tap into the bodies Anerobic systems and may burn glycogen more than fat ( not good)

Hate to burst your bubble but if you’re looking to reach a lower bf cold pool water is not going to help. Swimmers typically carry I higher bf to insolate them from the cold that is the body’s natural reaction to all that time in a cold pool.
