When is a powerlifters/strongmans prime?

I see alot of them hitting their peak in the early 30s, some even competing and winning in there early 40s. I know there are strong guys in there early-mid 20s but it seems in general strength peaks in the early 30s for alot of people, why is this even though testosterone peaks at 21 and starts slowly dropping. Why isnt it when our test levels peaks that we hit our strength prime at 21-22?

Id assume because those strongmen/powerlifters are on synthetic test. our natural test levels peak in our 20s, but with the use of anabolics a man in his 30s can have higher levels of test then ever before.

Muscle maturity, knowledge about what your are doing.... and the only way to gain knowledge and tricks of the trade is be around the sport for time...
I also think most start using compounds similar to how bodybuilders do...they have to start on low doses and build up overtime. .. Just because you are on 10 grams of gear, and 20ius of hgh, doesn't mean you grow into Phil heath over night...

It takes years of training to develop the muscle memory and technique these guys use to push those monster amounts of weights....

Look at some of the ronnie coleman videos around the time he was being uncrowned by cutler, that fuck was doing 800lb squats and benching 220lb dumbells, and that was towards the end if his career....

I think given the gear these guys run, you will never stop making gains, until injury happens and the body can't take anymore...

Not really sure. Been trying to push my lifts (natty) and been stuck in deadlift plateau. Probably work / stress more then anything. Also calories play a big part in it. I've been cutting trying to get the fat down. But for me , I'm still making some gains even at 42 , so it's not impossible to make gains in the 40's. I don't think testosterone is the main issue here. I think energy levels, experience , weight increments, the programming leading up to the meet, muscle memory etc are more important. Certainly calories can lead to testosterone deficiency if you're cutting... Getting back to energy levels. But I think the answer to your question lies in the programing / periodization of the training
