What's this extra weight made of?

Well, well, that didn't take long - I'm back at the same weight I started out at in January - WOW! Amazing the powers of a few too many chocolate bars and cookies, LMFAO.

However - this weight doesn't LOOK the same as in January - I'm definitely still much leaner.

What do you ladies think - could it still be water weight, almost a month later? I had some really bad bloating going on, which has mostly dissipated, I think. Hard to tell.

Or have I miraculously gained lots of muscle? ha ha

Definitely some is fat, but not all.

Any experiences? Ideas?

Yeah, what Spatts said. In the first few weeks after a competition diet you should expect to gain more muscle than fat (and lots of water). Sadly this state doesn't last forever without pharmaceutical assistance, so go easy on the chocolate! The other thing that can happen if your diet is truly gross and you don't exercise is that you can gain relatively more visceral fat which is kinda hidden compared to sub-q fat, so you may still look lean but be packing some serious internal blubber. No way to tell this one without something like DXA.

Ha ha - some people would call my diet truly gross: egg whites, oatmeal, vegetables, walnuts ...

I just call it boring.

And I just can't get enough of the gym, so the above problem likely doesn't describe me. Except for a few chocolate items per week, which I HAVE TO GET RID OF. Am I going to have chocolate cravings for the rest of my life? I never ever used to want sweet stuff, til I started bodybuilding nutrition 101.

Willpower, ha ha. What's that?
